Good afternoon and thank you for joining us online as we livestream the Promotion to Glory Celebration for the late Ledua Mafi this afternoon Saturday , 20 June 2026.
"We give thanks for a life marked by faithful Christian service, dedication, and love for others. 'I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith' May they rest in God's eternal peace."(2 Timothy 4:7).
Ledua Mafi was born on 14 October 1958 and peacefully passed on to glory on 16 June 2026.
He belonged to the Lefuka Family, Nasau, Nawajia, Namuka-i-Lau, Tikina Kabara, Yasana Lau. His traditional i Cavuti is Gone Turaga na Tui Nasau, vua na Tui Namuka.
He was born to the late Nacani Sitima and Ma**ca Sesiri, both of whom have gone before him into eternal rest. His father hailed from the same chiefly lineage of Nasau, Namuka-i-Lau, while his mother was from the village of Doi, Ono-i-Lau.
Ledua was united in marriage to Luisa Jane Rabusa Yasawa Mafi of Mataqali Navoraga, Yavusa Malake, Tikina Rakiraki, and together they built a family founded on faith, love, sacrifice, and service.
He was a loving father to Ma**ca Sesiri Mafi, Ateca Disavu Mafi, the late Kitione Kau, Emele Volau Mafi, Epeli Naidir Mafi, and the late Rosi Jane Talei Mafi. He was also a proud and devoted grandfather to 16 cherished grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy and pride to his life.
The funeral procession will commence from his residence at Lot 13 Dilkusha Road, Nausori, a place of great significance in his life and ministry. Before the establishment of the Joritani Methodist Church, Sunday worship services were faithfully held at his home from 1991 to 1995. The congregation later moved to Dilkusha Boys School until the church building was completed and officially opened in 2002.
As one of the founding members of the Joritani Methodist Church, Ledua played a vital role in its establishment. Serving as the head carpenter during the construction phase, he devoted his skills, time, and resources to helping build what has become a spiritual home for many believers today. His dedication to God's work remains a lasting testimony of his faith and commitment to Christian service.
We give thanks for a life marked by faithful Christian service, dedication, and love for others. Throughout his life, Ledua demonstrated unwavering commitment to his family, church, and community. His legacy is one of wisdom, humility, hard work, and unity. He often reminded his family to always listen to the elders, support one another, and to work hard and smart through life's challenges and difficulties, just as he faithfully supported his own siblings and loved ones throughout his life.
On the night before his passing, he shared words that brought comfort and assurance to his family. He told his beloved wife, "I know where I'm going. My life has been fulfilled and I have completed my calling." These words reflected the peace, confidence, and steadfast faith with which he approached his final journey.
His family finds comfort in knowing that he has entered into the eternal presence of the Lord whom he faithfully served. Though deeply missed, they rejoice in the assurance that he has been promoted to glory and now rests in God's eternal peace.
The Promotion to Glory Celebration will be livestreamed by the Livestream Media Team.
