After 1 week of the exhibition at Maison de Curiste in Luchon, these 6 pictures are pulling away from the pack as being the most popular shots in terms of orders and also simply being looked at.

Ultra high resolution digital email files available for a small fee. Can be printed at your local print shop on a paper of your choice. I would recommend a pearl lustre or semi-gloss finish.

Some old favourites and some interesting new shots are on display at The Maison de Curiste in Bagnères de Luchon. Come along for a look and an explanation of how they were created.

Framed prints, panoramic prints, acrylic and aluminium finishes are all here. All pictures are available as prints which you can mount in a frame which suits your taste or home decor best.

There is just 1 week left of the exhibition in Loudenvielle Tourist Office. The staff have been amazing and George is a particular favourite of theirs.

I’m pleased to say I had my biggest sale today when the large 100cm centrepiece photograph was snapped up by a happy customer as a present for his wife. There are still plenty of good pieces left though so pop in and have a look for yourself.

Il ne reste plus qu'une semaine d'exposition à l'Office de Tourisme de Loudenvielle. L'équipe a été formidable et George est l'un de leurs préférés.

Je suis heureux de vous annoncer que j'ai réalisé ma plus grosse vente aujourd'hui : la grande photographie de 100 cm, pièce maîtresse, a été raflée par un client ravi, qui l'a offerte à sa femme. Il reste encore beaucoup de belles pièces, alors venez les admirer par vous-même.

The exhibition is up and running and FINALLY the centrepiece is on the wall. It’s a metre wide framed and mounted view of Loudenvielle and after much trial and error on a pitch black shooting night, I got the lighting correct. A card reader makes life easier for any potential customers.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Self Portrait ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

It was a 2 hour hike to reach this ledge at 1700m and it’s not even half the height of the mountain I’m looking at, Aneto. That’s why I love the mountains, they give us perspective. We’re so minuscule and unimportant in the grand scheme of things, whereas they have been here hundreds of millions of years and will still be here hundreds of millions of years after we’re a distant memory.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Celestial Objects ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

My fascination with astronomy makes astrophotography my preferred choice when it comes to taking photos. The biggest friend of the photographer is light and, well, there just isn’t much when you’re shooting stars (pardon the pun). Much research and practice have resulted in some great nights in the field watching and shooting meteor storms, comets and the galactic core. For these shots you need to look at them at full brightness and in a darker room.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ LONG EXPOSURE ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

This technique involves leaving the shutter open for a long period, often up to 30 seconds. As long as the camera remains completely still everything will appear normal apart from moving objects such as water, vehicles and clouds. At nighttime this is easy because there isn’t much light but during the day you must use a density filter to prevent the image being over exposed.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ EXPOSITION LONGUE ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Cette technique consiste à laisser l'obturateur ouvert pendant une longue période, souvent jusqu'à 30 secondes. Tant que l'appareil photo reste parfaitement immobile, tout paraîtra normal, à l'exception des objets en mouvement comme l'eau, les véhicules et les nuages. La nuit, c'est facile car la lumière est faible, mais le jour, il est nécessaire d'utiliser un filtre de densité pour éviter la surexposition de l'image.
