Kisses on the dance floor 💋

Last summer, a time was had at Imi & Joe’s wedding in the south of France. The sun dipped behind the valley and the air still warm on our skin. The atmosphere was alive, and Joe’s brother set the tone spinning old tunes on vinyl as the night set in.

This set is a mix of 35mm film & digital. Part grit, part perfection.

I think the secret to great photography is creating a whole world you want to live in, like a dream you try your hardest to fall back asleep into.

This session in particular will forever be one of my favourites for that very reason.
I often get asked how I get my couples to be so relaxed in front of my camera, and all I have to say is, hand on my heart, is it’s not difficult to photograph people on love. All you have to do is be yourself, and let yourself dream. All I have to do is witness you. 🤎

Something about loading film into your camera the day before a wedding feels ritualistic. It’s like a little pre-ceremony ritual, where I feel like loading film feels like putting a capsule of magic into the camera, for my couple. It feels whimsical and absolutely delightful! I only feel this way about film! Digital cameras are so techy that they don’t truly feel like magic to me, not the film cameras are at least. ✨

A gorgeous and wholesome day spent celebrating Joyce & Arnout’s civil wedding, with a quick stop at the park where Arnout proposed, before they headed back home to spend the rest of their day with their family.
No big crazy wedding performances, just pure love and quality time. (And what a treat it was for my eyes!)

A moment so small you could almost miss it. Laura & Nina were moments away from becoming newlyweds when I noticed their fingers intertwined. This small gesture reminded me of a vine finding its home on a stone wall - full of hope, encouragement, and a quiet sense of relief.
