A few images from out and about on the South Bank with a 135mm lens. It was quite a jolt from shooting up close with my usual 28mm but it’s good to challenge ourselves and how we see things.

Painting The Town.

When you go out to shoot black and white and some colour creeps in. I couldn’t ignore these while determinedly shooting with Sergio Larrain’s style in mind for my latest video - link in bio.

Sergio Larrain was a Chilean photographer who made a book about his visit to London in 1959. It’s more about atmosphere than moments. I went out to try and shoot some atmosphere.

Seeing Like Sergio.
London.
I recently spent some time with “London 1959” by Sergio Larrain.
Not so much looking at what he photographed…
more how he seemed to see.
Loose.
Layered.
Sometimes unclear.
So I went out with that in mind. Not trying to copy anything directly—
just letting things sit a little further back,
letting frames breathe,
accepting that not everything needs to resolve.

Some of these feel close.
Some don’t.
But that’s probably part of it.
