Found a nice nook aside the trail, a huge stone that would keep me out of sight. Got my tea out and pushed the thoughts of an approaching storm further into the future.
It’s hard for me to find the balance between enjoying the moment myself and capturing it to share. When traveling alone, capturing creates a sense of companionship. Very rarely though I do let myself just watch and don’t pull out any sort of camera.
In the hindsight, both types of moments captured or not, are precious. And those that I did capture, form that visual diary of sorts that I share with you.

Be it oxygen deprivation or mountain spirit, or the overwhelming beauty of nature, either way being in the high Alpine country makes my soul want to sing and fly high. Inspiration, elation, happiness, all at once.
Perhaps that what makes me want to get back to this place time and again. Just to feel that peace, quietness, feel far away from anything and everything for a little while. Listen to the void below and watch the eternal giants around.

The very first light gently touching the top of Europe — Mont Blanc. The very first light of a new turn around the sun for me.
I realized the best gift for me these days is positive memorable experience and associated emotions. This was precisely that: an experience of being in one of the special places on the planet and the emotions caused by the beauty of nature at dawn.
What struck me during editing is seeing a couple of mountaineers reaching the summit when I zoomed in the shot of Mont Blanc. Can you spot them?
