I just watched tonight chocolat with my girls, a flim which influenced me a lot growing up. The tiled roofs in the flim, the beautiful Tarn river and the little villages which are exactly like this in the film. It is somewhere I often find myself working- like this weekend.

When I am capturing weddings I do also love a family session, I get to share my local knowledge with my clients all part of enjoying France.

These girls knew how to have fun and have their cake too. 🤍

The light did something magic this evening. Golden hour pouring through the trees, apéro hour winding down, and Nadia and her girls stealing a few moments together before dinner.

There was twirling. There was laughing. There was a 🐝. There was a whole lot of joy in those pastel dresses.

And yes, there was cake. (Swipe to the end, you’ve earned it. See what was inside…. Ahhhhh stop it!)

So… you’ve decided to do the French wedding thing. 🇫🇷

You’ve invited all your favourite people to fly halfway across the world.

Your friends are excited.
You’re excited.
And your mum? She’s been talking about visiting France forever.

You’ve imagined these few days so many times. Walking through a château with a glass of champagne, long dinners under the fairy lights, everyone together in one place. It almost feels like a movie.

And honestly… it can be.

One of the biggest advantages of working with me is that I actually live here.

I’m not flying in for a few hours and disappearing the next morning. I can be there to document the whole experience.

The welcome dinner on Friday.
The wedding day.
The recovery brunch, winery lunch or lazy Sunday by the pool.

As a visual storyteller, this is my favourite way to photograph a wedding. When I edit your gallery, every part of the weekend flows naturally into the next. It becomes one beautiful story rather than just one beautiful day.

These are the kinds of weddings I want to photograph more of.

Shona & Marc, what a wedding. 🤍

High school sweethearts, 21 years together, and they said their vows at Château Gassies in Bordeaux surrounded by everyone they love, over three beautiful days.

It was all soft and neutral, champagne and ivory and candlelight, with the most special little touches woven through. A Scottish quaich ceremony, and a candle lit for Shona’s mum. I still think about that moment.

They told me the hardest part of planning a wedding in France was finding suppliers who spoke English. That’s the whole reason I do this, so couples coming here to the South of France feel looked after from the very first hello.

The Bridal Buzz UK, which still makes me smile. 🤍

I wasn’t born here in France, Australia is my motherland but France is my soul and it has nurtured my babies so beautifully.

My daughter running down to swim at my friend’s pool at on a hot Sunday evening at 6pm.
Big trees, birds and beautiful light. Very blessed to raise our kidlets around such peace. ✌️

I have been in full swing chatting to planners, videographers and sometimes celebrants about my clients weddings that are coming up during July, Aug & September.

Your details matter to me, call it because I used to work in events too and I know it’s not great to pull you out announces for your golden hour shots when the chef wanted to serve mains! 🙌

If everyone knows what’s going on the day runs so smoothly. So this is the things I do when I am not photographing, I am making sure I know you, I know what shots you want to capture and the people not to miss.

That is part of what I do and it’s important as choosing the right lens to use when.
