In this new video series, Paris Photo explores some of the key concepts that have shaped the history of photography.

↘️In this episode, , Curator of the Photography Collections, Musée du – Jacques Chirac, reflects on the notion of «Immediacy».
She explores how technological advances gradually enabled photography to capture movement by shortening exposure times and fundamentally transforming the conditions of image-making.

[Elles × Paris Photo – Gauri Gill]

“Too often it is the loud voices that prevail.”

How can quieter voices be made visible?

In «The Village on the Highway», Gauri Gill turns her attention to forms of resistance that often remain unseen.

Documenting the protest movement led by Indian farmers on the outskirts of New Delhi between January and December 2021, the series reveals how vehicles, makeshift shelters and everyday spaces became sites of solidarity and collective resilience.

Presented by in the Voices sector at the last edition of Paris Photo, discover the artist’s reflections in this interview produced as part of the Elles × Paris Photo program. The questions were conceived by curator , inviting the artist to reflect on the social and political dimensions of her practice.

[Elles × Paris Photo – Gauri Gill]

For more than two decades, Gauri Gill has developed a photographic practice grounded in time, attention and collaboration.

Working across India through long-term engagements with people and communities, she creates bodies of work that explore questions of labour, migration, memory and everyday life.

Rejecting the spectacular in favour of sustained observation, Gill's photographs reveal the complexity of lived experience and the many ways individuals shape and inhabit their worlds.

Tomorrow, discover our exclusive interview with Gauri Gill, presented by Vadehra Art Gallery as part of Elles × Paris Photo.

Launched in 2018 in partnership with Ministère de la Culture, Elles × Paris Photo highlights the work of women photographers. Last year, the programme was developed with guest curator Devrim Bayar, chief curator of the future Kanal Centre Pompidou.

[Prix Pictet – Official partner]

The Prix Pictet has announced 𝘑𝘶𝘯𝘨𝘭𝘦 as the theme of its 12th edition.

Founded by the Pictet in 2008, the award champions photography as a
powerful medium for engaging with environmental and social challenges of our time.

From November 12-15, 2026, Pictet, official partner of Paris Photo, will present a
dedicated exhibition within the fair, under the nave of the Grand Palais. The inaugural
Prix Pictet booth will present a curated selection of works by past Prix Pictet
Laureates.

The theme was unveiled during the Les Rencontres d'Arles , accompanied by a special
presentation by Prix Pictet 𝘚𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘮 winner Alfredo Jaar (Alfredo Jaar).

Le Prix Pictet a dévoilé 𝘑𝘶𝘯𝘨𝘭𝘦, thème de sa 12ᵉ édition.

Créé par le Pictet en 2008, le Prix Pictet met à l’honneur la photographie
comme un puissant moyen de sensibilisation aux grands enjeux environnementaux
et sociaux de notre époque.

Du 12 au 15 novembre 2026, Pictet, partenaire officiel de Paris Photo, présentera
une exposition dédiée au cœur de la foire, sous la nef du Grand Palais. Ce premier
espace d’exposition du Prix Pictet rix Pictet réunira une sélection d’œuvres des précédents
lauréats du Prix Pictet, soigneusement choisies pour l’occasion.

Le thème a été révélé à l’occasion des Les Rencontres d'Arles d’Arles, lors d’une présentation
