I disappeared for a fee months for both personal reasons and a change of direction. Not fully gone from Instagram but will spend more time on long form video creation on photography and photography gear. Posted my first video this past Friday on YouTube, I find YouTube to be a more relevant platform these days for everything photography related. Instagram is more about likes, reels and ... apparently direct messaging, the reason people use DM more than reels and posts is because our stuff doesn't get seen anymore yet... we made good connections these past few years. Anyhoo, it would be great to gave tour feedback on my latest endeavor on YouTube. There are over 1200 new never before published photos from Paris in this video. How about a film slide from this past spring at Pont Alexandre III, I was just wondering what he was shooting from this location pointing in this direction as there isn't much to see from that spot. Who knows? The trees and then Grand-Palais sticking out from the canopy... who knows

That day when Avinash .jai.singh and his wife Alisha and I met in Paris during their quick visit. We ended here because Avinash wanted to make a selfie inside the Chatelet métro station as we were about to part way... "... wait what, where are you going again?" I asked, "Musée d'Orsay" so I suggested a better spot for a selfie the 3 of us together, a short walk away. And that's how we ended up in that spot, makes for a better background when making a selfie. The best advice I ever received photography wise was "mind the background" and it's true ... the background can make or break a photo... anyhoo, I'm still around just have been working on something new. 35mm is almost all I'll ever need

The good life, sitting at a Parisian café for breakfast or lunch with friends or your significant other, having a great conversation and watching people go by. Strangely about 8 weeks back, I was about to do this and enjoy an early afternoon coffee break when I decided to just leave before ordering. I'd rather be making photos than pausing for half an hour or more. Instead - I've been enjoying my afternoon coffee once I arrive home - while working on photos. always something new to discover, taste and experience © Patrick Colpron Paris, France 2023

I prefer people in my photos, makes everything way more alive. Paris is a living city, as I am in the process of going through all my old photos I shared on Instagram I realized I shared a bunch of boring lifeless stuff just to ... feed the beast. My apologies for sharing photos for just the sake of sharing photos. These days I'd rather not post than post lifeless boring stuff. To me, people make photos way more interesting because what makes any city great is not it's architecture or monuments but the people living in it and visiting it. Selfie City... my wife recently ;last week) reminded me I told here I was kinda sorta stopping sharing street photos on Instagram back in 2012, "Insta doesn't like street, I'll stop sharing street..." and I more or less did. I also changed the way, how I made photos and what I made photos of. In the past couple of weeks I have been archiving old Instagram posts, gawd awful stuff I used to make and share. My apologies for that, and also - I used to think I deserved more followers and now I wonder how come I gained so many followers with the terrible photos I shared which I thought were the s**t! No, they were just crap, my street photos were good but I deleted them all from Insta way back when. Anyhoo - pretty much only street going forward always something new to discover, taste and experience © Patrick Colpron Paris, France 2023
