Very personal message - for once.
⸻

Fifty-eight years ago, you welcomed me.
A very premature baby.
One kilo five hundred, then five hundred grams.

At the time, survival meant an incubator,
no skin-to-skin contact,
no arms to keep me warm.
Only your presence,
your waiting,
your hope.

People often say that I am a fighter.
I believe, above all, that I was carried by your love,
even at a distance,
even when it was constrained.

Today, the roles are reversed.
I am leaving to take care of you.
You are now 84 and 87 years old.

This is neither a sacrifice nor a duty:
it is a fair return of things.

And yet, this day moves through me
with deep emotion.
Because it speaks of time.
Of time passing, relentless.
And of the time that remains,
precious, fragile,
to be fully lived.

So let us take this time.
Let us look at one another.
Let us talk to one another.
Let us love one another,
as long as it is possible.
