While primarily photograph orientated, the publication also featured trending points of interest within Nicole’s professional life. The title “Cynosure,” prefaces the content and individuals Nicole felt compelled to explore throughout its pages as the word itself means “a person or thing that is the center of attention or admiration”. Currently the magazine is on a creative hiatus but Nicole inten
ds to return to the creation of its third issue within the following year. Outside of her personal creative pursuits, Nicole mentored with legendary Rock Photographer, Henry Diltz. The pair met at a star studded benefit concert in Los Angeles to raise money for an ailing musician. Diltz and Nicole worked side by side and formed a longstanding friendship which led to Diltz becoming an active inspiration for Nicole’s career. Nicole feels their bond is invaluable and refreshing as they understand each other on an artistic level. Diltz went on to personally write her an outstanding letter of recommendation for use in applying to art schools. The two are still very connected. While attending Parsons School of Design/The New School in NY, Nicole was personally invited by Andy Hilfiger to photograph the runway collection for “ARTISTIX” by Greg Polissini during Fashion Week this past August. After having briefly been showed her work, Hilfiger arranged for a production pass to be left for Nicole allowing her all access to the New York Fashion Week show to cover the event from the unique and creative perspective she harbors. Nicole has since returned to Los Angeles and has been focusing on bridging the gap between the fashion and music worlds. In January, she shot TBOZ UNPLUGGED at The Avolon in Hollywood where she worked with the likes of Snoop Dogg, T Boz (of TLC), Naughty By Nature, and Da Brat. Primarily focused on musicians, Nicole has been immersing herself into their world and has begun developing relationships with artists as well as record labels. While Nicole is still very much an avid editorial photographer, she looks for ways to combine both of these specialties.
