Rachael Laporte Photography I'm living the "new American dream" and loving my perfect Parisian life with my incredible French husband and three French cats. Life couldn't be any sweeter!

I couldn't imagine living anywhere other than Paris; which is why I adore connecting with other francophiles, celebrating their love of this breathtaking city, and capturing enchanting moments they will cherish forever! I'm easy to spot amongst the tourists, just look for the photographer with a goofy grin - that's me, Rachael. I never imagined my life would turn out this wonderfully, but I wouldn

't give it up for anything! I mean, I've got the best job in the world! I meet people that are excited to see me, and I get to photograph them in some of the most beautiful places in the world!

A sunrise start, a 7-year-old, and a family ready to explore Paris is my idea of the perfect morning!

When Momma first reached out, she knew exactly what she wanted. The Eiffel Tower, of course, but more than that! She wanted to capture what it actually feels like to walk through Paris as a family. The little in-between moments that end up meaning the most!

And with this curious, playful, very-much-on-the-move 7-year-old leading the way, we knew pretty quickly this wasn’t going to be a checklist session.

So we gave ourselves time. We started slowly at the Trocadéro in that gorgeous soft morning light, then wandered toward the Bir-Hakeim Bridge, letting the walk between locations become part of the story. We paused when something caught her attention. We followed her lead!

Because every parent knows kids this age don’t want to stand still and smile on command! They want to explore, imagine, run around a little, have a little cuddle, then take some space.

And when you lean into that, everything goes that much more smoothly! The session feels easier, the energy stays light, and the photos start to reflect what it actually felt like to be there.

By the time we reached the Bir-Hakeim Bridge, it didn’t feel like a photoshoot anymore. It felt like a morning in Paris that just happened to be documented along the way!

“These are so beautiful!!! You are so talented! Thank you for capturing our family and for these memories. We love them!”

Turning 30 in Paris, with your husband, and no kids, just the two of you....

How absolutely perfect of a way to celebrate starting a new decade!

Shayne told me she loved the iconic Eiffel Tower views (of course), but she also wanted something more… The little moments, the texture, the little moments that will transport them back to Paris.

Cobblestones, soft light, quiet corners, a bridge at sunrise with no one else around, “capturing these elements would be key to remembering our time there.”

So we did both! We started with that classic, dreamy Eiffel Tower glow
and then wandered a bit, letting the city give us those in-between moments she was really drawn to.

And you know how much I love those precious in-between moments!

Happy birthday, Shayne! What a way to celebrate!!

It’s the first day of spring, so I had to bring this one out of the archives!!

Last year, I got to help Juli and Taylor celebrate their engagement under the blooming trees in the Trocadero.

From painterly gardens to leafy courtyards and geranium-filled balconies, Paris knows how to show off in the spring! By April and May, the trees are green, the flowerbeds are thriving, and the city looks full of life again! Whether we’re strolling through Palais Royal or wandering the streets of Montmartre, it’s the perfect season for colorful, flowery locations.

If you’re dreaming of a bloom-filled backdrop, I’ll help you plan the perfect session for your springtime Paris dream!

I’m heading out tomorrow for a little bloom-scouting mission, so tell me: which Parisian garden are you most excited to see this spring? Is there anything you want me to check out??

Who’s ready for Spring!?

Paris will look like this in 2-3 weeks, and I cannot wait. Give me more days like today with the blue skies, warmer temperatures, and add in some blooming trees, and I’ll be in heaven! Spring can’t come quickly enough!!

A proposal with a personal twist!

I love when clients come to me with something different! Nicholas and Ify visited Paris the year before and completely fell for Parc des Buttes-Chaumont—the views, the hidden paths, the quiet romance. It reminded them of home, feeling more like New York than some of the more tourist spots. So when Nicholas decided to propose on their next trip, he knew exactly where it had to happen.

And he nailed it.

We built the whole session around what would mean the most to Ify, right down to the post-proposal picnic with champagne—because is it even a Paris proposal without a celebratory toast?

A perfect spot, a perfect plan, and a very enthusiastic YES.

Jasmine and Brent’s first time in Paris together deserved something special. They wanted a session that felt like them—a little vintage, deeply romantic, effortlessly candid. A celebration of this new chapter, set against the charm of the Marais.

Some love stories are soft and quiet. Others are full of movement, laughter, and that can’t-stop-smiling, hold-you-closer kind of connection. Jasmine and Brent’s? It was all of the above—and an absolute delight to capture.

Timeless, romantic, free-spirited—just like their love.

The quiet anticipation. The sudden bursts of joy. The realization that this isn’t just a love story—it’s the beginning of a family.

Engagement sessions hold a special kind of magic. There’s something about this moment—before the vows, before the wedding dress, before the rest of their lives together—that feels so beautifully suspended in time. It’s the way they steal glances, the way laughter erupts out of nowhere, the way they hold each other like they already know—this is home.

When I got married, it was the first time I truly understood that I was creating my own family. Not just a wedding, not just a partnership, but the very beginning of something bigger than us. And that’s exactly what I see in every engagement session—the start of something lasting, something theirs.

I love engagement sessions so stinking much!!

Oh, the absolute joy of working with incredible women! ✨ I adore capturing sessions for my solo travelers—there’s something truly special about it. When it’s just the two of us, we become fast friends, breaking down all the barriers so you can step fully into your confidence. It’s all about embracing the moment, soaking up the magic of Paris, and having the most unforgettable time.

And let’s not forget—I’m your personal hype woman the entire time! Think of me as your ultimate cheerleader, making sure you feel amazing in front of the camera. Trust me, it’s a pretty fabulous experience all around! 💕

1,500 stories. 1,500 moments. 1,500 reasons to be grateful.

This week, I photographed my 1,500th session in Paris—a number that feels both impossible and inevitable. Next week will mark 8 years of doing this full-time, and I can’t believe how quickly time has flown.

And yet, I still remember that very first session like it was yesterday. Standing on a bridge near the Eiffel Tower, heart pounding, waiting for a couple to arrive for their surprise proposal. So much has changed since then, but my love for this work has only grown.

This job has given me more than I could have possibly imagined. We’ve laughed until our cheeks hurt, wiped away happy tears, twirled under the Parisian streetlamps, and sprinted through the city chasing golden light.

We’ve celebrated new beginnings—the whispered ‘yes’ of a surprise proposal, the joy of a long-awaited honeymoon, the quiet anticipation of a growing family. We’ve honored loved ones—brought photos of those who couldn’t be here, held space for memories, and embraced the bittersweet beauty of life’s fleeting moments.

We’ve danced through empty streets at sunrise, wrapped ourselves in warmth on chilly mornings, and stood still in awe as the Eiffel Tower sparkled just for us.

We’ve toasted to love, to friendship, to adventure. And in every session, in every story, I’ve been reminded just how precious these moments are.

This week, I’m taking time to think back on every session, every story, every soul who has stood in front of my camera. I’m remembering the joy, the quiet moments, the love that filled each frame. Thank you for trusting me with your Paris memories. Thank you for letting me be part of your story.

Here’s to the next 1,500 moments—whatever they may be.

A mother and daughter adventure, embracing the world—starting with Paris.

There’s something powerful about a mother showing her daughter the world. Just the two of them, navigating new streets, sharing experiences, and creating memories that will last a lifetime. We started at the Bir-Hakeim Bridge and made our way to the Tuileries Garden, where the blooming trees and their stunning dresses felt like they were made for this moment.

Sessions like this are my secret sauce. Watching a young girl discover the elegance, history, and femininity of Paris alongside her mom is inspiring. These moments of connection shape how we see the world—and ourselves.
