Five years ago today, we took possession of our beautiful apartment in Paris. And yes, it has been a dream come true and a promise fulfilled. I can honestly say that for me, in a lifetime of many grand adventures, living full time in Paris has been the grandest of all.
Over the next few weeks, we’ll share a bit more – how we came to be here, what our life is like, maybe some before and afters. We are often told “you are so lucky”, but of course, one makes their own luck and our move here was the culmination of years of persistence, overcoming obstacles and working steadily to achieve our vision. When I tell you that we moved here in the middle of Brexit and the pandemic, you’ll get an idea of our determination!
I am about one third of the way through writing a book about what brought me here, beginning with a first visit in my teens. and many subsequent serendipitous occurrences which led me to live, not only in this neighborhood, but on this very street. It’s a pretty good story, and one which I’ll tell you more about later in the year.
But in the meantime, I will soon launch my newest and biggest book, Beautiful Blooms, which you’ll hear a LOT about, starting next week.
We are so grateful to each of you who have followed along for many years. In everything we do, we endeavor to bring you joy and beauty.

(David is currently on a month-long solo photo expedition to Bhutan, his fourth visit there. It’s a country he loves passionately and by now has many local friends who have welcomed him and are helping him access remote areas that are not commonly open to visitors. After this trip, he will be completing his book on this most magical land.)
