So happy to share that in the midst of all this caos I got some good news while locked in quarantine.
My work as DoP of the music video of the song “Fazendo Assim” (Doing Like That) by the dear has been awarded with the 1st place on the film festival in Paris this week.
Directed by and and produced by my good friend , the greatest challenge of the cinematography of this film was on how to deal with lighting complicated scenes inside of caves in the heart of Brazil. Some of the sets were more than an hour away in trails trough the tunnels of those caves and it was impossible to bring a power generator to those spots. Some of my preferred scenes of the film were lit only with a few battery powered LED panels. .

Make a wish!

My dear , who is receiving her star wish in the next few days, was always chocked when after a whole day filming her surfing I was rushing the crew to stop by another beach and leave me there for maybe another 5 hours for one single shot.
What can we do when we love what we do?

More than one year later I’m back to the Araguaia region in the deep center of Brazil. Surrounded by the contrasting extremes of the native rainforest in one hand and the huge deforested areas for farming and livestock in the other.
Brazil is still striving to understand where the balance should be between preservation and production with reckless new policies coming up under the new government elected. It must be acknowledged that there is no need to end conservationist efforts in order to increase the production in the fields.

Couldn't imagine a better way to start a new cycle than watching the stars by the dunes of Jericoacoara, one of the paradise most cities of the Brazilian northeast. Welcome 2019! Let’s rock it!

Remember to enjoy the moments. We can always came back to the places we liked but we can never live again determinate moment. Stop for a second and just take a time to look around. Climb a roof. Breath in. Share your special moments with the ones that are beside you right there. Somehow we seams to be always forgetting those simple and pretty obvious things.

Life teaches us a day after another that the worth things in life come by some struggle. I don’t believe in the easy things, or on the easy fixes. Have never seen any good coming out of something like that. The world is full of bad easinesses, but we are the ones at the helm. And if there is an ocean ahead to be crossed… so be it. That’s the only way I know to get to the paradise.

Can you guess where this photo was taken?
Looks something from another planet isn’t it?
On January 1st, this year we raised the anchor from the safe bay inside the crater of the volcanic Deception Island, in the Antarctic peninsula and sailed to its outside. It was my first time in the wonderland of Baily Head. Among the hundreds of thousands of Chinstrap Penguins, the visit got forever enshrined in my memory with the most breathtaking sunset the continent has to offer. The mix of colors and feelings of this afternoon, and te joy in being back the frozen lands of Antarctica will be cherished for ever.
