Last Private visit in Paris tomorrow ! In November we unveiled a unique display produced in collaboration with and .paper around the project “L’Origine des Choses”.
Born from the gathering of the know-how of the printer, the creative studio and the paper manufacturer and curated by Louise Le Moan, “L’Origine des Choses” is an invitation to take a journey to the heart of material, photographic as well as printing.
Spread across the three levels of the Imprimerie du Marais , seven exceptional triptychs highlight the means to sublimate, reinvent, animate, or even reanimate a photographic image through the creative and adapted combination of printing techniques and materials.
Explorations of nature and the artisanal gesture, the photographs by Romain Guittet selected with Saison are accompanied by their metamorphoses designed by Rotem Rachel Chen using the tools and techniques of Imprimerie du Marais on recycled creative papers from Fedrigoni Paper.
They then reveal themselves differently, in new shades, textures and finishes, in new patterns, reliefs and contrasts. Of these dynamics of transfigurations emanate the notions of recycling and upcycling of materials, between roots and ramifications.
Two workshops dedicated to printing techniques and paper selections as well as a masterclass on the transformation of images came to activate this beautiful display of curious, inspired and inspiring exchanges.
All our thanks goes, in particular, to Mélody Maby-Przedborski, Karine Sasson, Myriam Kermene and Séverine Calmus for their trust, their inspiring creations and their precious help and to the fabulous teams of artisans at Imprimerie du Marais led by Jacky Przedborski and Rizwan Fatahu.
All our thanks goes also to LABEL IMAGE workshop and Delphine Piovant for its very beautiful photo prints, to Laurent Pincon and his teams for the elegant frames, to Julien Crochard .a.t.e.l.i.e.r.c for the assembly of the exhibition and to Goni Shifron for the set design.
