After we went to the Embassy and Tom got his emergency passport, we went to Montmartre and walked up and down (literally--it's very hilly). A wonderful part of Paris.

We were on the way to Saint Chapelle when Tom's wallet was stolen. I didn't have much energy to process photos after that, but I looked at them today. The first time I saw this glorious space, it blew my mind away. This time, my mind was elsewhere, but it's still a marvelous place, and if you are ever in Paris, I recommend it.

You probably won't be getting any pictures for a while. Yesterday Tom's wallet was stolen with his passport and all his credit cards. I don't have much energy for processing photos. We did go to Sainte Chapelle, but after that the day was spent at police stations and cancelling credit cards and trying to unravel the secrets of the U.S. Embassy, which won't be open until tomorrow morning. We are to be there promptly at 8:00 a.m. and have a half-hour window to put in our claim for an emergency passport. If all goes well, it will take only two hours to get it. He has absolutely no identification, so I hope they take my word for it that he is who he claims to be. I have a debit card that he did not have in his wallet, so we will have some means of paying for stuff. It worked at the ATM yesterday, and at the restaurant we went to. Cross your fingers that he can fly on Wednesday.

We ate dinner at a restaurant close by, and were at an outdoor table. I had an exceptionally nice view.

While I was waiting for Tom and Lily to come down from the tower, I managed a few photographs.

We had 7:30 tickets to visit the Eiffel Tower, but when we got to the security line, we only had two tickets. So I gave my ticket to Lily (I had been there before) and here are her pictures.
