Finally there! First photos from a short but intense trip to Brussels. This time I invite you to explore the interior of the European Commission, and more specifically its two buildings: Charlemagne and Berlaymont.

The European Commission is the executive body of the EU. It is alone responsible for drawing up proposals for new European legislation, and it implements the decisions of the European Parliament and the Council of the EU. It's composed of 28 commissioners (College), one from each Member State, and the current President is Jean-Claude Juncker.

'The legend' says that when you ask in Brussels 'How to go to the Commission' ou receive roughly 71 different answers - its headquarters are located in the European district and not only there

I’m glad to present you my website with a photo project that I’ve decided to launch after having hesitated for some time…

Why European story? Because I’m here, in Europe, which is all the time in the heart of political discussion, not always positive.

For the very beginning I propose you to visit European institutions – these so called ‘bureaucratic machines’. We tend to classify them as such because the images we meet in public media are often just these taken from the outside, as unapproachable, glassy buildings...

So I would like to share with you their internal design, to make them more accessible. A possibility to see them from the inside maybe would help to better understand how and where Europe is constructed.

The very first Institution is The European Court of Human Rights set up in 1959, based in Strasbourg, designed by the British architect Lord Richard Rogers in 1994. It rules on individual or State applications alleging violations of the civil and political rights set out in the European Convention on Human Right. To not be confused with Court of Justice of the European Union!

Let’s go for the first discovery then!

Niezmiernie mi miło zapowiedzieć, że po długim czasie dodawania licznych zdjęć na prywatnym koncie facebooka nadszedł czas na stworzenie osobnego projektu. Już wkrótce strona internetowa wraz ze szczegółowymi informacjami oraz, oczywiście zdjęciami będzie dostępna dla wszystkich!
