The London Portrait Group An informal club for Portrait Photographers First Tuesday of every month. No membership required Subs are payable only when you attend.

Set up in the 1960s the London Portrait Group was set up by Paul Kaye and Mike Freedman to network with other photographer to improve the quality of portrait photography in the London area, it has met on the 1st Tuesday of each month ever since. The group is non profit making, the £10 subs pay the cost of hosting guest speakers from around the UK and Europe. Anyone can join, emails are sent out wi

It’s with a heavy heart we are writing a post about the passing of Maz Mashru, today 4th June. Maz gave so much of his time to help educate and entertain so many photographers over the years and really was an inspiration.
His last talk at LPG brought in one of our biggest evenings and we were able to say “standing room only” which very few meetings have accomplished in recent years. His talk “Thinking out of the box” was truly eye opening and definitely left us all excited to try something new.
He kindly invited us up to his studio and we had a wonderful evening including the most fabulous food thanks to his wonderful family. We send you all our deepest condolences.

Next Meeting for London Portrait Group is back at the Colney Fox, London Colney on the 2nd of June 2026 at 7:30 start.
The evening guests are Rita and Sushil Pattni from Sonara Studios. They will be talking to the group about their business in a town that has changed photographers till they moved in. Their secret of survival and how they work. Be there to get inspired.
