The last few months have been some of the hardest of our lives.
We’ve been quieter than usual on here, and we feel we owe you honesty.
Behind Fire & Ice, behind the weddings, the films, the deadlines and the brand, there are real people. And recently, our world was turned upside down by the loss of my dad, a man we’d known, loved, and leaned on for over 40 years. My best friend. Our family’s anchor.
My dad was one of my biggest inspirations. Some of my earliest memories are standing in the attic as a kid, watching film photos come to life in trays of chemicals, learning patience, craft, and storytelling from him. He was an amateur photographer, but more than that, he was the reason I ever picked up a camera. Without him, there is no Fire & Ice.
Trying to grieve while still running a business has been brutal. Family emergencies don’t pause just because you own a company. And for both myself and Rebecca, who run Fire & Ice together, this loss hit us deeply. It affected our energy, our output, our presence, and that’s why things went quiet.
But through it all, we’ve felt nothing but support.
To our clients, thank you for your patience, your kindness, and your understanding.
To our team, thank you for holding things together when we were struggling.
To our friends and family, thank you for carrying us when we couldn’t stand up straight.
This season has reminded us why we do what we do. Why moments matter. Why memories matter. Why photographs and films are so powerful, because one day, they’re all we have left.
Dad, this company, this craft, this life all started with you.
Thank you for everything 🤍
We’re still here. We’re healing. And we’re moving forward with heart, honesty, and gratitude.
