A little update on a piece of artwork I started months ago💞

Looking back, I’ve realised just how much progress I actually made. Sometimes when you’re so close to a project, it’s hard to see how far you’ve come. Taking a step away and coming back with fresh eyes, renewed enthusiasm, and motivation has reminded me why I started it in the first place.

I’m excited to be getting back to it and bringing back Stamp Sundays! Tomorrow I’ll be sharing a side-by-side update so you can see the journey so far.

Behind the scenes of me and Miss Quinny collecting her latest auction winnings… and I genuinely don’t think there’s ever a calm or normal way for us to do anything 😂

For the first time ever we had to use the lift and a very questionable trolley because of the sheer amount of jewellery, costume pieces and little treasures she bought. Honestly, the chaos of this video just makes me laugh because this is genuinely what we’re like every single time we go out together.

I feel really lucky that over the last three years I’ve got to learn so much from her without even realising it. My knowledge and eye for jewellery and antiques has grown so much just from being around her and going on all these little adventures together. We just genuinely love what we do.

The only downside is that our taste is painfully similar… which means there’s been a few pieces over the years that I’ve absolutely fallen in love with but she refuses to let me buy from her because she wants to keep them herself 😭 There’s one thing from this haul in particular that she already knows I want, so if she ever decides to part with it, I expect to be first in line.

A Life Pressed Between Pages 🍀
There’s something really special about these days with Miss Quinney 🤎
Digging through boxes, chasing stories, and finding little pieces of someone’s life left behind.

Today it was a booklet from a gentleman named Frank Newnman… and his incredible talent for finding four-leaf clovers 🍀
We were completely caught off guard—in the best way.

These are the moments I love most.
Not just the antiques, but the stories, the surprises, and the feeling of stepping into someone else’s world for a second.

Learning, laughing, and dream team. I love this world we can share together ✨

Behind the scenes with Miss Quinny & Paper by Ems 🗝️✨

Today we went to collect her latest auction winnings… and honestly, this is the part you don’t always see. The rummaging, the unwrapping, the “omg look at this” moments 👀

I get to live vicariously through her a little—sneak previews, first dibs on the treasures she finds… and the constant internal battle of trying not to buy everything myself 😅

This is just the beginning as we start going on more trips together, showing you the real behind-the-scenes of what she does and how these beautiful pieces make their way back into the world 🤎

Trust me… you’re going to want to keep an eye on what’s coming next.

Today I took myself on a solo date to Castle Fraser.

Lunch surrounded by antiques that once lived full lives in this castle when it was still a home, followed by a quiet walk through the gardens where the first flowers are just beginning to bloom.

I’ve really come to value these moments in my own company. They give me space to think, process things that have happened, and gently move forward.

Walking through the gardens today reminded me that right now you only see the first hints of colour. But in a few months the whole place will look completely different.

Maybe life moves like the seasons too.
Some seasons are for blooming, some are for growing quietly beneath the surface, and others are for letting things go.

But each one has its purpose.

“Just like the seasons, people have seasons too — times to grow, to rest, to let go, and to begin again.” 🌿🍃

This is Peapod Antiques, where Miss Quinny drops off some of her costume jewellery for the shop. If you follow her, you’ll know she talks about Peapod a lot — and now you get to see the delivery day.

There are always great rummage deals like 3 for £10 and 3 for £20.

It’s actually where Miss Quinny and I first met nearly three years ago, and it’s still one of my favourite places for vintage treasures.

I’ve even got some PaperbyEms artwork here too — and I’ll be updating my display with new prints when I’m back from Spain

Paperbyems is in Spain this week getting some much-needed sun 🌞

No phone, no distractions — just me, my artwork, and my audiobook. I had so many passengers asking what I was doing while I was working away on my tiny collage.

I’ve been a bit slow with creating lately, but hoping to have a proper update on this piece soon. Now I’m just hoping I packed enough glue to last the trip… otherwise I’ll need to place another order with for the one glue I can’t live without. ✂️✨

Finally got some sunshine here in Scotland ☀️ so I headed back into the garden to check on last year’s plants.

Safe to say… the catnip has grown very nicely 🌿

Cue one very crazy cat on catnip 🐈

I have two cats — the one in the video is Merry, and my pure black one is Pippin. And yes… they’re named after Meriadoc Brandybuck (Merry) and Peregrin Took (Pippin)from The Lord of the Rings 🤍
