The countdown is on! 5 days until the Feed Free exhibition opens at Salt Space Gallery in Glasgow. I’ve been very busy this summer working around other commitments to create new work for this exhibition. The curation part is complete (who knew how difficult that would be!) the prints and zines have arrived but there is still plenty to do as I prepare to travel to Glasgow next week and install the exhibition. I really hope you can pop in if you’re in the area.

The MSP exhibition in September is not public facing but there will be another chance to see the work in Aberdeen in October. Swipe this post to see details of both the public exhibitions. If you would like to come to the opening night then you can DM me to book a space, there is no cost to attend but limited numbers.

Feed free isn’t just a photography exhibition it’s an initiative to represent and support breastfeeding mothers across Scotland.

This has been a huge passion project for me but it’s not only about the photography. Behind each image is a story unique to that mother on their breastfeeding journey and why representation matters to them and there will be QR codes below each image to take you to these stories.

I’m super excited and a bit nervous! Huge thank you to the charity LLL Collective for partnering with me on this. Also thank you to Creative Scotland and our sponsors Karen Adam MSP Jackie Dunbar for helping to make this happen. And thank you to the participants who have trusted me to take these images and share their stories. You’re all amazing!

What an incredible day for Prarthna and Murray! We absolutely loved the blend of Scottish and Indian culture and traditions at this stunning wedding.

It was lovely to see the vibrant sari dresses, Prarthna’s beautiful gold Lehenga and stunning Indian jewellery together with Murray’s traditional Scottish kilt. But the real beauty was seeing the love between this pair and their families coming together to celebrate them. We couldn’t be happier for these adorable newlyweds.

Why have one wedding when you can have two! Sam and Tess had their legal ceremony the day before their big event and both days were just pure joy.

Firstly can I just say everyone should opt for a wedding train over a wedding car if they have the option! Sam and Tess hopped on the The Stoney Express after their legal ceremony with the beats blasting and drinks flowing, it was quite the ride!

Day two was spent nostalgically at Sam’s old private school Lathallan School where we fell in love with this old building and its history. I mean look at how they turned the school assembly hall into a colourful dream of a reception! They worked so hard on this DIY wedding implementing beautiful touches from both Sam and Tess’s work, heritage and travels to Nepal (and a few lightsabers thrown in for good measure).

These guys and their guests laughed the whole day and we had an absolute blast. Congratulations Tess & Sam!

Exciting news about my breastfeeding photography exhibition!

We have now secured a final space in Aberdeen at Aberdeen Local Makers Market located in the Bon Accord Centre. Please scroll to find details of both exhibitions in this post. There will be a private viewing available to all participants of this project on Thursday 1st October and I will be in touch with volunteers to invite them to this so do keep an eye on communications from myself.

We also have a date of 15th - 17th September for our exhibition at Holyrood that will give us a chance to share the valuable work we are doing with MSPs.

I’m at the stage of curating images and ordering prints for our August exhibition at SaltSpace Cooperative which is only 4 weeks away! Eek!

I’m still juggling work and parenting around all this so I appreciate everyone’s patience as my communication has been slower over the summer break. This is a huge passion project for me and I’m so proud to be able to support breastfeeding mothers in this way.

I’ll keep posting updates as things progress. Thank you to everyone who has supported me and volunteered with this work. I couldn’t have done it without you.
