So I was asked by a good friend of mine to help her with some images to document her and her son Remi's amazing bond and relationship. I was so honoured to be a part of this and with permission Sian has allowed me to share her words.....

*** Sian's Story ***
โWhen I look at you and you look at me I wonder the wonderful things you will be...โ

I look in your eyes and sense the true comfort that nursing brings you. When you are hungry or thirsty. When your day is too overwhelming, or when you are bored. When I havenโt seen you all day. Or when you just want to drift off to sleep. That comfort that you get from our closeness and our bond. After all, you look so big now to so many people but to me you are still tiny. I look back at old photos of you and think wow I did that, I birthed and grew this amazing little boy with my body and my milk. Its so difficult figuring out motherhood and fatherhood but really Itโs even harder to imagine how scary this world is to you. And yet you have grown into this amazing independent little boy, a little boy that knows that Mummy will always be right by when you need her. Everyday, you become even more confident and you need me that tiny bit less. I thank our breastfeeding relationship and gentle parenting style for that. Itโs taught you I will be there whenever you need me. I see you explore the world without any fear. You will happily run miles ahead, hide away, climb higher than I thought possible at 18 months. Yet you glance over at me in the distance so confident in the knowledge that I will be by your side in a heartbeat if you need me. I will always be your home and your comfort. Your protector, I will endeavour to understand how that little brain sees this great big world. I will be empathetic and always try to understand you and respect you. When this truly wonderful journey comes to end I am safe in the knowledge that you moved at your own pace just as you learned to wave or to crawl or to walk or to run. You slowly eased into this world further with that amazing independence. Knowing that mummy will be right there whenever you need. Love you baby boy. You will forever be my little toot.
