💦 ABERSOCH RNLI NEW YEAR’S DAY DIP 2025 💦

Have you ever thought “I really want to do that one New Year”
Well why not make 2025 the year and bring the whole family with you!

💻 Participants will need to pre-register online with a minimum registration fee of £10 per adult and £5 per child. You will be sent a numbered wrist band, which must be shown before entering the dipping area. Post dip, wrist bands can be exchanged for a medal. ⏰This years 2025 dip is at 12pm. Registered participants will need to check-in on the Main Beach from 11.30am onwards ready for the countdown for the Midday dash into the sea under the guidance of our Abersoch RNLI volunteer crew and local Coastguard teams.

⚓️ The theme for this year is “Nautical Madness” and we are looking forward to seeing the usual array of imaginative costumes. ⚓️

💦The Dip is open to all age groups, but young children must be supervised by a responsible adult. There will be a separate area for smaller children and their families to enter the sea.

We’re looking forward to seeing you all participating or spectating on Abersoch Beach on 1st January 2025

A few shots of Farrel from the beginning of the nineties here in Abersoch. He was a true legend and such an inspiration to so many. Kind ,charismatic and the epitome of cool. He will be missed by so many.

Normally you would need to look northwards to have any chance of seeing the average northern lights. This event, however, was so strong it filled the whole sky. Even visible looking south east as I am in this shot over the St Tudwals islands on Abersoch main beach.

Normally you would need to look north to see the Aurora from this far south but this event was so strong it was every where I looked at its peak. This is looking east. from in front of Abersoch lifeboat station. Amazing.

Another shot from last nights amazing Aurora.

The best Aurora I have ever seen in. It filled the sky with amazing colour and shapes. Once your eyes had got used to the dark it was plainly visible and constantly changing. What a night.

Last date for ordering pictures for delivery before Christmas is Wednesday 14th December. The 20th if collecting from the craft centre. For collection, use code click&collect as a voucher code at checkout to zero the carriage.

Fach beach sunset. Taken with a slow shutter speed. This gives some interesting motion to the water, particularly noticeable in the spray rising from the rocks.

Porth Neigwl/Hell's Mouth is a great place to watch the sun go down at this time of year.
