Sometimes, before you even start something, you build a dream around it. And that dream becomes your motivation.

This photo was one of those dreams I had imagined ever since the day I first picked up a camera. It was almost unbelievable to me that I had captured a moment that I think so many photographers dream of — and, in my eyes, edited it with the most beautiful colours too.

To me, this isn’t simply a photograph of a mother and her child.

It’s a story told through their matching eyes, the way their expressions and gazes seem to mirror each other, and the quiet, loving connection between them.

Having spent years as a painter, I think that’s also why I’m drawn to this image. There’s something almost painterly about the way everything comes together — the connection, the composition, the colours and, most importantly, the feeling. 🤍
