How to be a trendy wedding photographer in 2026. I remember when Dutch tilt was a thing at weddings last time in 2013. Yes I’ve been going that long. Gonna try bring spot colouring back like a badman, watch this space. Nothing but love for 2026 photographers living life at 45 degrees.

⚡️ MY KIND OF HYMN⚡️

Ok ok I'm just gonna come out & say it. I'm not one for a church wedding. Of course I'll always photograph them, but holy s**t have I had some jobs worth vicars who would rather I stand outside than photograph the wedding. But this one was quite possibly my favourite church ceremony of all time. Mainly because the Vicar was bloody lovely & these guys got to sing Nick Cave Into My Arms. It's not often I get teary eyed during a wedding ceremony but honestly hearing the guests & choir sing this beautiful song in a church when lets face it, it's not the most religious friendly of tunes. The opening line "I don't believe in an interventionist God" says it all really.

The pure magic of Kate & Russ all day long was a treat for the eyeballs as well as the heart. Right after the ceremony Kate, Russ & the whole wedding shebang took a 15 minute walk down through the woods to the spectacular Woodthorpe Hall. Now I was convinced I'd been to this venue before, but when I got there, HOLY SMOKES! What a picturesque setting only matched by the absolute beautiful humans that was their staff. Legit these guys couldn't do enough for me all day & I was so grateful.

Also just check out the decor in the marquee. Kate put on her notes in her wedding plan, "we have a lot of decor but it might look s**t so I'm not sure I want photos of it" 😂 How wrong could she be. An eclectic explosion of colour & frickin coolness awaited our arrival including two beautifully (hand made by the groom) David Bowie & David Byrne face-in-hole boards. YES!

More portraits amidst the jaw droppingly beautiful grounds of Woodthorpe Hall proceeded epic food, an awesome band, a burning shopping trolley & I MET A BABY SHEEP DOG!!

What a perfect day. What a perfect love.

⚡️ I HAVE DR. ROBOTNIK'S PHONE NUMBER ⚡️

Sheesh what a badass Saturday I spent with the incredible Hana & Sam over at for their bloody incredible wedding. The sun was shining, the wind was flapping & the love was frickin all encompassing. The day began with these beaut two getting ready. Firstly what an awesome first time venue for me. Everything just felt pure frickin magic. Big shout out to for smashing it out of the park & bringing it all together.

Honestly spending time with these babs on the morning was just so damn spesh. Especially their little boy Arlo who at 4 years frickin old knows all the latin names for dinosaurs. What a legend! Also just check out that light in the cottage, I couldn't resist sticking Sam in it for a portrait. Swoon! In fact this was one of those weddings where all day long the light was more magic than Ron Weasleys trouser wand.

A legendary outdoor ceremony led by the couples pal was bloody magnificent before these two headed to the teepee for a bubble bound exit. Bubbles are awesome in theory but when it's a bit windy most of said bubbles end up returning to said face holes. ARRRGH MY EYES!

Right after that I strapped myself in & felt the G's of some badass portraits, lawn games & unreal magic before we headed inside for speeches & food. A personal highlight of said speeches was when the best man gave everyone beer mats depicting the groom as Dr Robotnik listing nothing less than Sam's full personal phone number on the back 😂 Legend.

Oh that light be giving me those warm fuzzies & as per usual I tried to find the bits of the venue that they probably don't want me to photograph. I hit a goldmine when I found a tennis court round the back. Made even more badass when a guest became ball girl & lobbed a tennis ball in there for the laugh. Little did he realise I would hire him for the rest of said shoot to throw balls until I got a shot where it was just above their heads. (See second image)

Back to the teepee the dance floor was frickin electric as played some bangers & I headed off into the sunset like a cowboy at the end of a Western having just saved the town from a large entourage of bad guys. I flick my cigarette into a cactus & it explodes, I laugh before saying giddy up to my horse. My horses name is Jeff.

Legit, I can't even begin to say how amazing these two humans are. Spending time with these guys just felt like hanging out with old pals. Before I left I said to Hana, the way this man looks at you all day long is EVERYTHING. There's some days where every photo, every detail, the venue, the light is eclipsed by the connection of two humans. & isn't that the way it should be.

Here's to Hana & Sam XOXO

⚡️ I AM LIQUID. I AM DEER PUNCHER ⚡️

On Thursday I travelled to Batmans House, almost punched a deer in the face, became teacher on an impromptu school trip & made some beaut photos for my pals Bex & Andy in a greenhouse in 30 degree heat. I have now entered my final form of a gelatinous cube only less of a cube & more of a paste. The paste of passion.

Arriving at Wollaton Hall I parked in said car park then proceeded to walk what felt like 300 miles to Batmans House. Sweating profusely & trying to retain a shred of dignity I saw a deer with antlers, ya know a proper one really close. I tried to call Paige to tell her I was like David Attenborough, but the deer came so close I was worried I'd have to carry out what could only be called a stone cold stunner on that fairytale bitch. Luckily it moved on & their was no venison on this day.

At Wollaton Hall I was straight into Camellia House for glass & magic as these two said their I do's in front of those that matter most. Right after it was some banging portraits & afternoon tea before I got given every single child at the wedding to go on an impromptu school trip of the exhibits upstairs. The 100% real (3D printed replica) T Rex skeleton upstairs was a personal highlight. Back downstairs it was more portraits before we said our sweaty goodbyes.

Special mention also to my wife aka for making such badass jewellery heavily featured at this wedding. She even made the wedding rings pictured. WHAT A TALENTED SAUSAGE POCKET.

Anyway, I might have only spent three hours with these babs but what a 3 hours it was indeed. Here's to the incredible Bex & Andy.

⚡️ 30000 STEPS TO LOVE ⚡️

Jeez I'm not sure my brain has quite recovered from the week of craziness that was Download Festival. It's not even about the music or getting drunk really. Instead good times are had because of the people you share it with. Your fellow amigos in the trenches. Of course smack bang in the middle of that I had a glorious wedding in Leeds. Around 30000 steps, an hour and a half drive, & I was back in civilisation amidst the glorious forms of Kasia & Danny. We won't mention that literally on the day I left Download, Paige's entire stall was knocked down and broken into little pieces by the frickin wind. Because the only gust on this day was my winds of love for this beaut two. (How's that for a Segue)

I mean Left Bank is always a doozy of a wedding venue. The staff are always amazing, the food is always banging & I consume more double espressos than Robbie Williams on an all night bender. I might of had a little case of the sleepies but the minute I set foot into this epic Leeds wedding venue with a camera in hand & love in my heart I was locked in to make some art from love in the city where I was born into the world.

Kasia & Danny's ceremony led by the always lovely was frickin epic. I'm not sure I can think of a better venue to slap out a prism like Lex Luther chasing Superman with a handful of Kryptonite. Once these beaut two had said their I do's I drove them over to Kirkstall Valley Nature Reserve for some epic portraits by a scenic waterfall full of Crisp Packets & opportunity. Making magic with these two amidst the woods was just so damn spesh. In fact the entire day was just so frickin easy when you have such spectacularly beaut humans in front of the camera.

Back at Left Bank it was AMAZING food by Manjit's Kitchen. I mean I know it was already unreal, but it was also the first proper meal I'd had in a few days & it tasted extra special. I just pity Paige in the tent that evening after consuming my body weight in Masala Daal. Thankfully I didn't take out the rest of the Mysticum Luna Download Structure with my own all encompassing wind.

After that it was more portraits & epic dancing amidst the fading light radiating across this spectacular Leeds venue. A badass party led by the awesome Apollo Brass Band ensued before I packed up my stuffs & hauled ass back to Download that very evening. What a weekend whirlwind of colourful love & rock n roll.

A massive thank you to Kasia, Danny & their friends & family for being such an amazing set of people all day long. I would walk 30000 steps & drive for 3 hours all over again just to bring those memories home.

⚡️ I SOMETIMES ROCK I SOMETIMES ROLL ⚡️

Heading to Download for the umpteenth time to help out on the stall. Of course by help out I mean try and remember the names of 3000 pieces of Gothic jewellery with strange names like “Devils Codpiece” while heavily inebriated. There has been times I have been removed from the till because I couldn’t operate a card reader but it’s ok because Paige loves me. I do also have a bloody lovely wedding smack bang in the middle of it which I’ll be leaving for & then coming back. I’m just like the famous Frodney Baggains really on his trip to destroy his ring piece on mount moom. Anyway if you email or call I probs won’t have signal. Such is the rock n roll life. That rock n roll life will more than likely include me missing my chai tea with Manuka honey & lemon on an evening followed by a good hard read before sleepy times. Oh & missing my kids.

If you’re at Download, call in & say hi. Here’s an array of photos where I previously downloaded.
