You spent £5,000 on your new website. It looks amazing. But a couple of months in, you don't really feel like it's making any difference to your business.

I know SEO sounds like something complicated that’s only meant for massive companies. But the truth is, having the right search keywords makes a way bigger difference for small, local businesses than it ever will for giant ones. Because you are smaller and more location-bound, those local setups are your actual digital roads.

A colleague mentioned to me the other day that once a website is launched, it’s a static thing and you shouldn’t touch it.

I really couldn't disagree more. Your website is a living thing, not a printed brochure!

If your analytics show that people are landing on your page and clicking away before they can even find your booking button, you're allowed to change the layout. You don't just have to sit back and let it gather dust.

If your site is feeling a bit stuck right now, or you're just not sure how to fix the flow yourself, please don't struggle with it alone. We can easily get it sorted together.

With my live hourly tech support, you just book a 60-minute block, we jump on a relaxed Google Meet call, and you share your screen. You bring your list of what's bugging you, and we’ll work through it together and fix those Squarespace glitches live while we chat.

It's £95 flat, zero stress, no endless email chains, just a massive weight off your to-do list.

If you’d like a hand getting your site working beautifully for you this week, the link is in my bio ☺️

Melting over my keyboard out in the garden today is a pretty blunt reminder of why I run Foubography this way. 🥵

I’ve been a massive eco-nerd for a long time. Back in school, I voluntarily signed up for an extracurricular team called 'Groene School' (“Green School”) literally an entire after-school club dedicated to making people more eco-conscious. It was deeply uncool, something if which I was blissfully unaware 😅

When I set up my own digital hub, keeping things sustainable wasn't up for debate. Digital footprints are real; running high-powered servers, designing custom websites and uploading massive galleries takes a serious amount of energy.

So, I keep it straightforward with Tree-Nation:

💚 Every single visit to foubography.com is automatically carbon-offset.

♻️ I plant a new tree every single month to clear my baseline footprint.

🌳 Every single time a new client books a project, a new tree gets planted in our forest.

No box-ticking, no corporate greenwashing. Just a clean, simple setup to make sure growing your independent business online doesn’t cost the planet.

Pop over to the footer if you want to track my forest and see what I’ve planted so far 🌲🌳

Running foubography gives me a massive amount of flexibility, but the reality of freelance life is that it takes a proper team to make it work around a family.

He’s the behind-the-scenes teammate who keeps the wheels turning at home, managing the chaotic logistics so I actually have the uninterrupted space to write custom code, deep-dive into SEO strategy and shoot for my clients 🤓

Independent business gets romanticised as a solo journey, but I couldn’t build these websites without the solid infrastructure he handles backstage.

Happy Father’s Day to the ultimate teammate and to all the partners keeping things moving behind the scenes today. Hope you have a lovely day! ♥️ 🔆

Why this is my cover photo on my Google Business profile... 💻✨

Your Google Business Profile is often the very first place local clients find you before they ever click through to your website hub. It’s essentially your digital shop front window.

So when people search for a web designer or brand photographer in Altrincham and Manchester, I don't want them to see a boring, sterile office setup or a generic logo. I want them to instantly get a sense of my aesthetic and approach.

This shot captures exactly what I mean when I say corporate or commercial photography doesn't have to feel stiff and traditional to be successful:

•It sets the tone: It’s relaxed, stylish, and comfortable, mirroring the exact "coffee and a chat" environment I create for my clients during their sessions.

• It proves the philosophy: It relies entirely on composition, colour, and feeling to tell a story about a modern, creative business owner.

• It builds immediate trust: It shows that you take your digital footprint seriously and care about high-end visual ex*****on.

Your cover photo is doing a lot of heavy lifting for your local SEO. It shouldn't just be an afterthought. It needs to make someone want to stop scrolling and click "visit website."

Have you looked at your own Google Business listing lately? What is the very first image telling your ideal clients when they search your name? 👇

Hi, I'm Sarah from foubography. It's probably about time I did one of those proper introduction videos..

If you're new around here, I’m a web designer, brand photographer, strategist and SEO specialist.

I work specifically with creatives, musicians, photographers, and independent small businesses to help bring their digital presence to life.

I’m also a qualified teacher, which completely shapes how I run my business. Because of that background, I feel incredibly passionate about education and empowerment. I don’t want to just build a site and hand it over; I want to give you the tools and confidence to take complete control of your own website.

Ultimately, my mission is to help you share your creativity, build an authentic community, and seamlessly connect with your ideal clients. Whether that means:

• Designing a beautiful, bespoke website for you from scratch
• Guiding you to build and manage your own site confidently
• Mapping out a solid SEO strategy
• Capturing natural, relaxed headshots that actually look and feel like you

I'm here to support your business in whatever way works best for you.

If you’re ready to get your creativity out there and want to chat about working together, drop me a DM or head over to foubography.com. I'd love to hear more about what you do!

I love having my kids at home, but let’s be honest: balancing a business during the school holidays is incredibly hard.

When the kids are off school and nursery, my normal work routine completely goes out the window. I become entirely dependent on my husband’s availability to clear chunks of time, because trying to take client meetings with children around just doesn’t work, no matter how nice or understanding the client is.

To all the parents, and especially the mums working from home with the kids right now: I see you. You’re definitely not alone in the juggle 🤍

Should professional photographers use iPhones as part of their kit? 📱

I’ve written a lot about this on my blog, but it’s always a bit of a debate. Personally, I don’t think the gear matters as much as people think.
What actually makes a photo good is the composition, the light, the colors, and the story you’re trying to tell.

If you’re a purist, you might think street art like Banksy isn’t real art, or that paintings can only happen on canvas. But to me, art is just about someone trying to get a message out. Like I said about opera the other day, it should be inclusive.

Don’t get me wrong, there are technical differences. Shooting RAW on a DSLR gives you way more possibilities when it comes to editing (and I’ve actually made another video about that technical side of things).
But at the end of the day, if it’s a good picture that tells a story, it counts.

What do you think? Does the gear make the photographer, or is it just a tool?
