Since I started my journey on wildlife photography I’ve wanted to be able to just find some Badgers never mind photograph one. I’ve only ever seen one last year and that was when I was chasing the Aurora one night. A brief moment in the dark and gone.

I’ve spent a year and a half seeing everyone’s images and videos on social media wishing I knew where to look and what to look for. But finally! A dream come true! And not just one but 5 different badgers in one night! 🥰 most of the time their heads were down too busy looking for food but occasionally I had a look I was able to capture!

People think that wildlife photography is easy, just walk point and shoot but it’s anything but that. It hours of research, hours of driving the country, hours of sitting with nothing showing up, and sadly it’s sometimes the community not being welcoming (which gladly I haven’t experienced) but the moment all your hours of waiting pays off, it means the world! 🥰

Some close ups of a local buzzard 📸

It’s been a while since I’ve seen a buzzard never mind got close enough to photograph one. And my local one that sits in a particular tree every day is not there so I can only hope that they are busy nesting and that they will return soon. Hopefully I’ll be able to get some updated shots when they do ☺️

Until then please enjoy the one and only time they allowed me to get close enough to photograph 😂 They even flew towards and over me which I was super excited about as they always fly off whenever I stop by 😂

Captured this little one peeking round the tree 😂 I clearly wasn’t what he wanted to see as he ran off after. ...

Finally found some beautiful foxes!

Having lived in London for 4 years, I took seeing foxes for granted as they were constantly outside my house everyday. But then moving to Northumberland I saw 1 in one year and realised how elusive they really are in the country compared to the city.

I finally Found a place where they were potentially around, and took my camera and camouflage coat and sat in some bushes for 4 hours. And that patience paid off!

Two stunning foxes appeared and spent an hour running round me, I assume looking for food for their cubs. They were stunning to watch and photograph! Hopefully the cubs are thriving and will appear soon 😍

Yesterday was such an amazing day!

Started off with seeing the otter in the morning having a plentiful breakfast. Then came the boat trip to the Farne Islands to see the puffins as last week when I went there was none 😂

It was amazing to see them rebuilding their bonds after months at sea. Clearing out their dens and waddling around the island 😂

And then to top the day off on the way back to the harbour the dolphins showed up! 😍 so close that I couldn’t even get photos with the lens I had on 😂

And to top that off the Orcas have come back to our shores this morning. Hopefully this year I will be able to see them.

Thank you to Serenity Farne Island Boat Tours

So a couple of weeks ago we had a chance at the Aurora and even though it wasn’t as strong as it has been I still managed to capture a few images during it’s peak 😍

This was all done with my trusty Nifty 50mm lens, I have however recently bought a 14mm lens so hopefully I’ll be able to try that out soon.
