'What if I don't feel confident pregnant?'
I get it.
I completely get it because I've been there too.
Pregnancy is such a strange rollercoaster. For many of us, it's something we've dreamed about for years, maybe even since we were little girls. Yet when those changes start happening to your body, it can be difficult to recognise the person looking back at you in the mirror.
When I was pregnant nearly 16 years ago, I was working in a photography studio. It had taken quite a journey for me to get to that point in motherhood, and I wanted to remember every single moment.
I didn't know if pregnancy would happen again for me, so I treated it as a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
As it turns out, it was.
I documented everything. From 14 weeks, when there wasn't much of a bump, through to those later months when my bump had a beautiful shape and I felt brave enough to celebrate what my body was doing.
My final maternity photos were taken at around 32 weeks, and at the time I felt enormous.
Now? I absolutely love them.
Looking back, I wish I'd taken even more photographs. I carried to 41 weeks, but camera phones weren't what they are today, so I don't have many images from those final weeks.
Those photographs remind me of a season that passed far more quickly than it felt at the time.
I trusted the photographers I worked with to create something beautiful, even on the days I didn't feel my best.
And they did.
That's why I ask my clients to trust me too.
With over 23 years of experience photographing women, babies and families, I know how to flatter you.
More importantly, I understand how you're feeling.
You don't need to feel perfectly confident to book a maternity session.
You just need to decide that this chapter of your story is worth remembering.
One day, you'll look back and see the incredible woman who carried your baby.
And I promise, you won't regret capturing that. 🤍
