This baby came to their session wearing a tiny piece of family tradition on each wrist 🖤

Recently I’ve been been photographing so many families around Derby and honestly everyone family that comes through my studio doors is a blessing.

They live in one house, the whole family — wall space is precious. So when they said ‘we’ll take them all,’ I knew exactly what that meant.

No ‘let’s just pick our favourites’ here. This family wanted every single frame, ready for the day they have walls of their own to fill.

New baby, big sister already stealing the show, and a family who trusted me enough to capture it all — not just the ‘best’ shot.

The family photographs will look stunning if they frame their favourite but “big” on the wall.

This is how it starts — capturing the smallest family traditions hand tied on a tiny wrist, a new client becoming a recommendation, becoming a family’s legacy on the wall. That’s the bit I never take for granted 🤍

It’s time… 🎄✨

Christmas mini bookings are now LIVE — and some have already sold to my mailing list. 👀

This year I’ve reverted back to my old pricing that I had from the very beginning so whilst you can still buy the 5 digital package and this price has stayed the same I’m also giving the one digital image option at £50 aswell as other digital packages. This makes it more affordable for everyone, but means slots will sell out quicker!

This year’s set is straight out of a fairytale: pine, holly, and a golden-and-red bauble arch — twinkly lights and all — flown in all the way from America. It’s the prettiest backdrop I’ve ever shot on, and I cannot wait to see your families in front of it. 🕯️

I’ve still got to buy my second backdrop so that I will keep as a surprise for now.

Back to school checklist list… mum of 3 boys… completed it mate ✅ 😂

To every Staffordshire & Derbyshire parent whose little one is starting school for the very first time this September — this one’s for you 🧡

I know that mix of excitement and “how is this happening already” because I’ve lived it three times over with my boys (now 9, 10 and 14). The uniform that’s suddenly too grown up. The nerves at drop off (yours, not just theirs)

Save this checklist or send to a parent about to embark on this whole new chapter.

A few of my top tips from years of doing the school run:

🧥 A spare coat in their bag/at school never goes to waste
🧤 Buy gloves & hats in advance and keep spares — they always go missing
👕 Pack a change of clothes for those little accidents
💷 Keep £1 coins handy for last minute cake sales
✏️ A stationery basket kept topped up = fewer last minute panics
🧊 Summer school run hack — I cut freeze pops in half and take them in a thermos coffee mug, still icy by pickup!
🦸 start stashing away pre loved fancy dress costumes/ outfits you will need them for themed days/ world book days

A little reminder to find your people at the school gates too. You’ve got years of this ahead, so choose your gang wisely 👯

Whatever this milestone looks like for your family, remember we are not living insta perfect lives, sometimes kids will have meltdowns when you need to get out the door, you won’t always be on time, you won’t always be able to make every single school event. School is different for every single kid and this really can change day to day month to month year to year.

When photographing babies, I often pull white as a colour of choice, not because I’m a beige mum, I’m quite the opposite but there is just something so lovely about babies in white 🤍

This month I’m looking forward to welcoming lots of babies into the studio, I do still have some spaces for Sept if you haven’t booked yet 😊
