When I’m not cuddling babies, I get to meet other mums in business. It was a pleasure to pop over to and see her space and to produce some business headshots that are website worthy and felt authentic to her.

I’m also looking forward to Nicola visiting the studio soon for some studio style headshots for her branding too!

The stats we’ve all been waiting for… okay just me 😂

I’m obsessed with these stats because they reflect how crazy busy I am at the moment for newborn photography and it isn’t slowing which I’m truly grateful for!

We regularly share birth statistics to show how many families have been supported through our maternity services - and in April 2026, 𝟔𝟓𝟖 𝐛𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 𝐚𝐭 𝐔𝐇𝐃𝐁.

I photographed baby Meadow on the hottest day of the year and the heat meant she was super sleepy.

It’s so lovely when a new family comes to the studio and I just know they’re my kinda people and like with this family I normally get these types of families off the back of a recommendation! (Their neighbours came to see me with their new baby just a few weeks ago)

So, with fans and freeze pops we powered through this super warm session and got these dream photos for my client.

It’s extra special when I get to see the bond between new siblings too! What a joy. I know that I have the nicest clients when they leave me such wonderful reviews like this one.

Important notice!

Upset and too understanding is an understatement. 😢

I’ve had a lot of last minute cancellations and even worse no shows recently.

I’m a mum myself and have been a newborn photographer for 15 years now so I know exactly what it’s like to have just had a newborn baby.

I’m a real people person so I’m empathetic if you or your child is ill. If you have been in hospital I understand.

But nowadays everyone is on their phone. It takes a minute to say sorry I can’t make it. I even offer to reschedule. When you don’t show up without letting me know I worry incase you’ve had a road accident on route or something has happened.

But when one appointment is missed and then the second without even letting me know, it makes me rethink my kind nature.

I run competitions monthly to bring new clients through the door, I make a living from what to do. All my regular clients pay a booking fee to secure a date in the diary which was waived for competition winners.

However, because of the recent no shows and people not signing contracts I’ve decided not to take any competition winners on unless they pay a £99 retainer to book which is refunded back when you come to your photoshoot. I’m sorry I’ve had to do this!

May glimmers ✨

Such a full month in the best way
So many lovely new and returning families through my studio doors, family birthdays, little celebrations and making memories together.

I've also made more time for me this month. Spa days, reading books, baking, picky bits outside in the sunshine and buying a paddling pool for the first time!

One of my favourite little joys was seeing the cows back in the field behind our garden again 🐄

My own little family has had some huge achievements this month, I was nominated for photographer of the year in the , one son passed grade 1 piano with distinction and my little one learnt to ride his 🚲 🎹

This month l've enjoyed spending time with my family and also spending time on my own. I've enjoyed being busy with work. I've also enjoyed baking this month too 🍰

A wholesome, joyful month full of gratitude, family time and doing what I love 🥰

This is why I love family photoshoots. They don't always go completely to plan.

Toddlers may have a little tumble and get upset, it might be too hot, it might rain, your outfits you planned to wear may not show up in time, your kids may be being abit of a challenge, it's hot and your running around after a toddler.

But here's where I change your mind, all families are like this but actually taking the plunge to decide let's get some professional family photoshoots on the wall, that's the difference, even in all the chaos, my outdoor shoots are about chaos and connection and finding perfect in un perfect. That's why I love outdoor family shoots.
