The Lovely Wilde

The Lovely Wilde Documenting my travels and the beautiful places around the English countryside. Hello & welcome! Thank you for joining me here.

I'm a freelance photographer and creative Instagrammer based in the Midlands, England. I love creating images of the beautiful English countryside but alongside The Lovely Wilde, I am also working on my wedding and events photography business. I love creating images that are beautifully atmospheric, naturally lit and inspired by the authenticity of the moment! I'm a naturally quiet person who enj

oys being outdoors and loves animals! Creating and sharing my work is my passion and alongside this, I also love baking and music! My interest in photography first began with my love of nature. I remember picking up my first DSLR camera to capture the first blush of spring several years ago when I was a teenager. I have always felt most at home in the countryside, loving to be amongst nature and thriving every time I get to escape the buzz and settle into small village life. I often find myself getting caught up in the fast pace of life and being tricked into thinking that it is the only way to succeed in the modern day. In spite of this, I have never stopped longing for the slower pace of life that I feel when I’m photographing the countryside and discovering new little places to explore. This is how The Lovely Wilde began. Having somewhere to share the pictures that I love to capture and a community to connect with who all share the same, likeminded thoughts keeps me inspired and gives me so much excitement to be doing what I love.

It was so calming taking my a winter stroll along Llanddwyn Beach in Anglesey. As we went, we read about the pilgrims who once walked this path in Tudor times, making their way to St Dwynwen's Church to leave offerings at Dwynwen’s shrine. The ruins still stand, along with the lighthouse, watching over the sea like it always has 🌊

There’s something about winter that makes you slow down and take in the small things — the rhythm of the waves, the cool wind, and the empty beach. It’s a season that invites you to find beauty in simplicity and celebrate what’s right in front of you, even when the days feel shorter and darker.

Nature always has something to offer, if you give it a moment 🤍

We spent a lovely afternoon wandering around last week. The gardens were so beautifully curated and peaceful, the perfect place for a slow wander on a sunny afternoon 🤍

Finding ways to practice slow living in art was a challenge I set myself this year. My goal was to feel that I am not just making art that documents a slower pace of life, but also to fully embrace it during the creative process. To make the art itself become slower too and, therefore, more meaningful and considered. My wonderful godmother introduced me to the process of making anthotypes a few months ago and I decided to try it out with this in mind.
There is a new post on my website all about the process of making this beautiful print so if you would like to read it, there will be a link in my story and in my bio 🤍

“I have nature and art and poetry, and if that is not enough, what is enough?” ~ Vincent Van Gogh

Spring has felt a lot slower and more gradual this year than it has in some recent years past. Although it is already May, and I’m still trying to figure out where this year has disappeared to so far, the slowness of this season has allowed me to notice much more about the changes in nature. This year, I am particularly enjoying the beautiful Mayflower I see lining the hedgerows. Their little white blossoms have delicately highlighted each of the deep green leaves and it makes me thankful for the rainfall that we have had over the past months that has nurtured the trademarks of spring 🌸🤍

My mind is always full of daydreams about old fashioned architecture, countryside spots, landscape art and the beauty of nature. So, this week I took a moment away from the things that have been keeping me busy to slow down and live out the things I often daydream about. I visited one of my favourite National Trust properties and stumbled across this beautiful spring windowsill which reminded me that, even with the rain clouds we are under at the moment, there’s still so much peace to be found in slow moments on these spring days 🌱🤍

It’s undeniable that there are plenty of perks that come with working in a bookshop but obviously one of the best parts is being able to get my hands on beautiful books like this one. Signed by the author, Alice Vincent, this gorgeous book is making for some lovely lunch break reading this week. has crafted a perfect collection of inspirational words for women, nature lovers and garden enthusiasts who love to curate green spaces in their lives. As an artist and aspiring author, this book is igniting my creative brain, provoking thoughtful moments and is one beautiful study of green fingered women in the modern world 🌱🤍

It’s the first day of spring! What better excuse could there be to revitalise this account? I’m so looking forward to the warmer days to come. This winter has felt long, dark and very cold and I’ve missed longer daylight hours dearly, but I’ve taken time to rest and rejuvenate my passion for art, writing and nature. It’s given me time to think up lots of new ideas and the inspiration I’ve found from many different places has been so enlightening! I can’t wait to share some of the things I’ve found inspiring throughout winter with you over the next few weeks… lots of new posts to come 🤍

Happy Sunday 🤍 I hope everyone is doing well and avoiding the rain. We have had a very rainy November so far and although I love the moody lighting and cosy days, a little bit of sunshine to cheer me up wouldn’t go amiss every so often! How about you, do you prefer rain or sun in November? 🍂🤎

A seasonal interlude begins as November days get darker. There is no mistake that there can be something so tiring about the endless dark skies and rain clouds but I love those transitional days between autumn and winter. Even on the days when I struggle for creativity, the silence in my mind feels restful rather than disruptive ~
