I've worked so hard to get to where I am today. When I first started Thomas McCabe Photography, I was told no one would believe in me.

Five years later, I'm still going strong.

That's down to every couple who has trusted me to photograph their wedding day, and everyone who has booked me for all the other types of photography I've done along the way.

I absolutely love photography, and being a first-time business owner hasn't always been easy, but I wouldn't change it for the world.

Yesterday I did something a little different.

I’m always looking to expand my photography skills, and Off Camera Flash (OCF) has been top of my list to master. So on a wild, windy Sunday evening at Ayr Beach, we made it happen.

This shoot wasn't about the amazing poses it was about trying something new.

Huge thanks to my brilliant model Jane for braving the wind, and to Jane’s wife for keeping our setup grounded literally anchoring the light stand and holding on to the softbox for dear life so it didn't blow away!

I would love to do this again maybe not at the beach thinking rozelle park

Shooting with OCF in coastal wind is definitely a challenge, but the learning curve is so rewarding. The first photo is with no flash, and the rest are with flash

Getting married in 2027, 2028 or 2029? 📸

I'll give you direction when you need it but I'm not going to spend hours pulling you away from your guests for photos.

We'll get the beautiful couple photos, the family photos and all the important moments but I'll also be looking for the laughter, the madness and all the little moments happening in between.

Relaxed Family Photo Sessions 📸

Time to update them family photos without everyone standing there awkwardly wondering what to do?

My family sessions are relaxed and fun. We'll go for a walk, let the kids be kids, have a laugh along the way and I'll give you a little direction when you need it.

You'll get some lovely photos of everyone together, but I'll also capture all the natural moments in between.

Danielle & Leigh

What an amazing day for Danielle & Leigh at the stunning Cruin

Families and guests travelled from England and even across the Irish Sea from Ireland to be there and celebrate with them, which made the day that little bit more special.

Sadly, the Scottish weather had other ideas for their outdoor ceremony but it certainly didn't stop everyone having an amazing day.

Thankfully the rain gave us a break later on and we managed to get outside for some photos by Loch and honestly, what a backdrop!

Danielle & Leigh were so relaxed together, which is exactly what I love. Nothing complicated, just the two of them enjoying a little bit of time together while I photographed it.

Thank you both for having me along to capture your wedding.

I had an amazing time with you, your families and everyone who made the journey to celebrate with you.

And Loch Lomond... you weren't too bad either. 📸

knew from bridal prep in the afternoon that this was going to be a nice quiet and sensible wedding… I was very, very wrong 😂

Kat was absolutely hilarious from the minute I arrived and I genuinely don't think she stopped laughing all day.

Then came the big group photo. Everyone had been given confetti poppers ready for the confetti shot afterwards. Apparently waiting wasn't an option for some of the guests 😂 A few poppers went off during the group photo, leaving only the sensible ones who actually listened with some confetti left for the real shot. 😂

Somehow we still got the confetti photo!
From the madness during bridal prep and all the laughs through the ceremony, and finishing the night dancing on the clouds, this wedding was just FUN from start to finish.

Kat & Marc, you were absolutely brilliant. Thank you for having me along to capture it all I had an amazing time with you both and all your guests.

Congratulations again, Mr & Mrs ❤️🥂

Danielle & Leigh wedding day 30/08/26

A huge congratulations to Danielle & Leigh they tied the knot at the stunning The Cruin in Loch Lomond what a stunning location.

These two are an amazing couple and a pleasure to photograph.

It was my first time at The Cruin and the view wow. The whole staff were so kind and friendly took time to speak to us, and even had a chat with James the owner about bat. Such an amazing person.

It was also my first time working alongside wedding Dj Gordy and his wife lovey couple. The fabulous Content Creator Connie we had a great laugh through out the day, amazing content creator. I can't forget the funny Celebrant Brian Baxter what a laugh

Danielle & Leigh big day is almost here.

Tomorrow the stage is set for an amazing wedding day at The Cruin with guests arriving from far and wide.

I hope they both have been practising the dip.

I know tomorrow is going to be full of laughter and lot's of new memories for me to capture.
