🎆 Bonfire Night weekend getaway! 🎆

We’re hoping to get the caravan out for a little Bonfire Night weekend this year 🔥✨

I’m looking for family-friendly caravan sites in the North East that either have something going on for Bonfire Night, or are close enough to a good local bonfire/firework display 🎇

As it’ll only be a weekend trip, we don’t want to travel too far, so ideally anywhere between North Yorkshire and Northumberland.

We’d love somewhere with a cosy atmosphere, maybe a pub/restaurant on site or nearby, and somewhere the kids can enjoy too 🥰

📍 North East only please

🎆 Bonus points for an actual Bonfire Night event nearby!

Where would you recommend?
We’d love to hear your favourite sites or any hidden gems for this time of year👇

So… we said we’d see how we got on.

And the verdict is in. 👇

It absolutely smashed it. 💪

Hours of constant rain in Coniston over August Bank Holiday and not one leak from our Telta Skylink 400.

In the five months we’ve had it, it’s already seen some pretty serious weather — strong winds, a freak hailstorm and now endless rain. And apart from adding the extra support to prevent sagging, it’s just kept on doing its job.

The canopy? ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The floor underneath it? That’s another story… 😫

We were pitched on a slight sideways slope with the Telta carpet over gravel, and all that rainwater decided to make its way underneath the caravan and carpet. Cue us plodging around in the awning. 🫠

So now we need your advice…

What do you do to stop rainwater running underneath your awning/carpet when you’re pitched on a slope?

👇 Share your tips — we’re all ears!

Five years. Five visits. And we still can’t get enough of this place. 🥹🌿

Come with us on a little tour of Coniston Park Coppice, one of our favourite sites in the Lake District.

From pitches tucked amongst the trees and THREE play areas, to lake access, a food trailer and the beautiful village of Coniston just a 30-minute walk away… there’s so much to love here.

There are also cabins if camping or caravanning isn’t your thing, plus some great facilities dotted around this huge site.

It’s easy to see why we keep coming back year after year. ❤️

Have you stayed here? Or is it now on your Lake District list? 👀

If you saw my caravan sofa cover reel a few weeks ago… here’s the follow-up you asked for! 🥰

So many of you asked how I measured that awkward curved corner cushion, so I’ve shown you exactly how I did it.

And because a few people also asked about washing them… I’ve now washed and air-dried them and I’m very happy to report they’ve come out brilliantly! 🙌🏻

They’ve kept their shape, their elasticity and went straight back on looking great.

So yes… I’m still very impressed with these! ❤️

One of those completely unexpected moments that makes caravan life so special. 🤍✨

We’d been out for an evening walk around site and, on the way back to our caravan, we stumbled across our neighbours practising sound healing.

We’ve genuinely never experienced anything like this while staying on a site before, and WOW… the sound was incredible. So calming, relaxing and just beautiful to listen to. 🥹

Lauren was absolutely lovely and was so happy to show us what she was doing, explain the different techniques and equipment, and even get the kids involved and let them have a little go themselves. 🥰

We absolutely love moments like this — meeting lovely people, discovering something completely new and making memories from the things you never expected to experience.

It’s these little spontaneous moments that make caravan life so special. ❤️

What’s the most unexpected thing you’ve ever come across while staying on a caravan site? 👀
We’d love to hear yours!

So, where are you pitching up this weekend?

Are you off somewhere new, heading back to a favourite site, or making the most of a few days at home?

Tell us where you’re going! 👇

And also how is it the last summer bank holiday already?! 😳
