Mental Health Photography Walk at Broughton Castle Grounds
A few years ago, I organised a Mental Health Photography Walk at the beautiful grounds of Broughton Castle, and the response was wonderful. We met lovely people, shared stories, enjoyed nature, and spent a few peaceful hours together away from the pressures of everyday life. I’m very pleased to say that, with the kind permission of Martin Fiennes, I will be running the walk once again.
This event is completely free of charge, with around 20 places
available.
Date: 16th May
Time: 10:00am
The walk is open to anyone who may be struggling with mental health, feeling isolated, anxious, stressed, or simply wanting to meet new people in a relaxed and supportive environment. You do not need to be an experienced photographer — just someone who enjoys being outdoors and taking photographs.
Bring any camera you like, whether that’s a professional camera, a compact camera, or simply a smartphone.
During the walk, I will guide the group around the beautiful Broughton estate, sharing some of the history, wildlife, and plant life found around the grounds. I’ll also be on hand throughout the walk to offer photography help, advice, and encouragement for anyone who would like it.
There is absolutely no pressure and no expectations — this is simply about getting outdoors, enjoying nature, meeting people, and hopefully helping improve wellbeing through photography and conversation.
If this sounds like something you would enjoy, we would love to welcome you along.
