She’ll wake up on her 16th birthday and for her, it’ll feel like any other day.
No little surprises, no excitement building and no feeling that today is something special.
But she’s like so many girls her age. She loves a pair of fake eyelashes that give a little boost of confidence. She loves trips to Starbucks, even if she doesn’t get anything. She loves baking and dreams of making the most delicious biscoff cake.
Turning 16 should be exciting and it should feel like a milestone that is worth being celebrated. But for some young people, birthdays pass by without much notice.
