Here’s a bit of good news for a Friday about kinky the white tailed eagle in Scotland. As an immature non breeding eagle it will probably explore and it just might be seen wandering over to Northern Ireland.

A sea eagle that confounded experts by surviving with a broken wing has been spotted back above Scotland's west coast.

Today I watched an Osprey repeatedly fly into the water. It wasn’t diving after fish but just landed in like a duck. It did this 3-4 times and then flew into a tree to dry off and preen. Speaking to people and reading apparently Ospreys can bathe to keep their plumage in good condition, especially after fishing in salt water to clean the salt out of the feathers. Learn something every day.

Today I was lucky to see a Hummingbird Hawk Moth. This is an utterly amazing large moth in that it flys between flowers feeding with an its long proboscis (long coiled feeding tube). It beets its wings around 80 times a second or 5000 beats a minute and its aptly named after the hummingbird!

Lovely to see an Osprey today. At this time of the years Osprey can visit NI before they return to Africa. Distant photos. This was Wildlife-With-Ethan first Osprey and he was the first to spot it, a very good find.
