Hello everyone, it’s Stan here.
I wanted to take a moment to share something personal with all of you — our wonderful clients, friends, and extended Stan Plus Stan Two family.
Earlier this year I was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer. I’ll be beginning treatment in the months ahead, and with that in mind, from January next year the studio will no longer be operating in the same way it has for so many years.
This isn’t meant to be a sad message. In fact, it’s a message of thanks. I feel so blessed that for nearly 50 years I’ve had the privilege of doing something I truly love — photographing people and learning their stories. To have shared that journey with my wife Shelley, my son Bradley, and my daughter-in-law Ruth has been one of the greatest joys of my life. And to have met so many of you along the way — well, I couldn’t have asked for a more rewarding path.
Your encouragement, kindness, and friendship over the years have meant more to me than I can put into words. While this is of course a difficult chapter, I’m staying positive and hopeful as I move into treatment, and I’m comforted knowing I’ve been surrounded by such a supportive community.
One of the brightest parts of this new chapter is the gift of time with my new grandson, Alexander. That thought brings me so much happiness. The photographs we’ve created together over the years are part of my legacy, and I couldn’t be prouder of the memories we’ve preserved.
Between now and Friday 20th December, I will still be in the studio, and I would love nothing more than to spend that time doing what I love most — photographing you. Whether that’s updating your family portrait, a Bo***ir session with Shelley and myself, or simply marking this chapter of your life with your loved ones (including pets!), it would mean the world to me.
My time in the studio is now limited, and I don’t want anyone who has thought about coming back to feel they’ve missed their chance. So if you’d like to, please know the door is open, and there will be no session fee for any returning client. If you choose to order photographs afterwards, that’s wonderful, but if not, I’ll simply be grateful for the opportunity to create more memories with you while I can.
Looking ahead, I’m hopeful that I’ll still be able to work on a smaller scale in the future, but for now I’m also looking forward to taking a bit of a rest from January onwards. This isn’t goodbye — just a change of pace for me.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for allowing me to be part of your stories for almost five decades. It has truly been the honour of my life. I hope to see as many of you in the studio as possible before Christmas.
With love and gratitude,
Stan
