Some absolute monsters were rolling in at Croyde Bay yesterday morning.
A huge swell whipping up the waves!
You can only watch in awe at such power 💪

Not been very active lately in terms of camera time but here are a few from a trip to Mouthmill beach yesterday.
Hoping to re visit soon perhaps for a sunrise shot when the tide is low enough.

No lunar eclipse for me as the conditions looked unfavourable but I did manage this shot of a nearly full moon with passing plane, the night before ☺️

A flight of cormorants perched upon this fence at Northam burrows, is a shot I’ve wanted for a while.
They’re always there at high tide it seems.
Maybe they know they’re safe from humans when the water floods the estuary.
They allowed me to get within 50m and stayed perched, so I managed to get some good detail with my 150-600mm, especially with the overcast sky.
Lots of other wading birds, including Wigeons, Brent/Brant geese, Oystercatchers etc but most were beyond the reach of my telephoto lens to get a good shot.
The Stonechat was a nice touch and my first photo of one 😊

The sea has been very generous here on the North Devon coast these last couple of weeks! 🥰
Most days have seen some kind of southerly wind, which will help prop up those waves.
I’ve visited a few spots between Hartland and Greysands and all have been pretty spectacular.

Managed to get down to Blackchurch this week, when the tide was low enough to shoot the stacks arch.I love it down here!...

Managed to get down to Blackchurch this week, when the tide was low enough to shoot the stacks arch.
I love it down here!
Some impressive rock formations in every direction but dodgy on the ankles and knees, and extremely slippery.
So rugged, the leading lines that run to the rock remind my of a dinosaur or dragons back.
Not much drama in the sky but happy to see some blue, after a week of wild winds and waves.

Yesterday’s sunrise from Northam Burrows looking towards Appledore.

High tide fills these grassy gully’s, leaving some nice lines in the landscape.
