Clearing your head walking the cobbles in york while the Christmas markets are still on, or strolling with your camera while the suns out catching the moments everyone miss.

Street photography will always be my favourite genre in the art form, purely because I love catching people unaware when they’re truly themselves.

It is also the foundation for all of my current skills in photography and I miss it. I really must make more of an effort to get out more!

Every photo I capture is one frame from a much bigger story.

The art of photography is writing a story through the frames you capture, my process is simple but has to be well executed.

I genuinely face this is in two ways, what you capture and how you capture it.

What you capture, simple, frame the event, its location, who’s involved and the tiny details that tell the story. For example, wide shots of the landscape, the details here of the dj decks that set the tone. When you see coverage of an event you should feel like you were there.

How you capture it, use perspective, my favourite shot from the strong backyard ultra was the shot of leading the pack down the straight in front of burton constable hall. The scale of his body to the hall shows the magnificence of the venue. Use technique to level up the visuals, not every shot has to be blurry in the back and sharp on the subject, events like this are very kinetic, slow the shutter show the energy involved.

The last thing I always look for is moments, the tiny moments that show human interaction or emotion the ones that are often overlooked or missed. These are gold and bring back the memories, like the shot of the two ladies crossing the line on that lap after pushing for 6km embraced over the line before their rest, or the bloke brushing his hair and howling with his mate who’s recording him! This is the difference hiring a photographer makes.

If you have a story to tell, let’s tell it.

STRONG X PORSCHE CENTRE HULL

Firstly what an event! I was only able to stay a couple of hours but I have to take my hat off to all of you. The people that organised everything, the participants and also the people supporting.

From the off you can’t ask for a better venue for an event like this, it’s stunning! And made for some awesome shots to capture!

I feel like this was one of those events that put our area properly on the map in the fitness scene, with CrossFit, Hyrox and endurance events gaining so much popularity it was definitely perfect timing to announce Hull on the stage.

It was also really good to see people from all the different teams and gyms come together and support each other in absolute graft over that distance! 6km every hour on the hour 🤯 I was shattered watching.

From a photography stand point the conditions were hard! Often the light was coming from behind the subject leading to faces being in shadow for the majority but I did the best I could and I’m really happy with the results!

Was a really a really good networking opportunity also meeting fellow creatives & .

Thanks again for having me.

It took me years to get here …

What I shoot.

What I want to,

And what I prioritise visually.

It’s time to step on the gas and make a real go of this. I want to be a photographer I want to tell stories through the magic I create visually and I want to work with YOU to do it! Let me tell your story.

Graduated from YouTube university.

From the second I picked up a camera I learned directly from people like & . From there I’ve developed my own taste and style and I live for more cinematic, story telling images.

Here is a little highlight of some recent work, some of my favourite shots and things I love to capture.

Show some love and let me know your favourite shots in the comments!

I wanted to share and highlight some images from the Altus running pace jam.

I wanted to break down my process a little and show how my head thinks about capturing and editing images.

Im a massive sucker for composition and call me boring but not many of my photos stray from the rule of thirds, I’ve shot this way since the beginning and it’s hard for me to wander too far from that … because it really works!

From just these two images you can see that I’ve kept (virtually) equal spacing on either side of the subject, this helps to draw your eye to where I want it to be. In my work I always try to make each image as cinematic as I can, I’ll often soften the highlights, increase exposure and temperature where the light source is coming from and use filters that aid my quest for this look. On both images I’m sure I shot using the dream fx filter, this softens highlights and gives that dreamier look.

On the second shot I wanted to catch the athletes running through the pocket of light that was naturally occurring from the trees, and while I didn’t quite achieve it, I was really happy with the way this turned out. Using linear gradients in lightroom I reduced highlights and shadows to make the top half of the image darker and did the opposite for the bottom half. I kept an even space either side of my subject and highlighted their formation using the leading lines of the track.

So much goes through our heads when shooting images, often at a split second, but by breaking down edits you get to see a clearer view of our thought process and editing process to get you to the final product. Often times people think photography is just pressing a button but the reality is far more complicated and as creators we think of the edit whilst we’re capturing.

Just before Christmas I was hired by to capture the launch of some of their newest products. There were clear objectives, the brand wanted images of their products in use but in the environment that their athletes train in.

The stage was set and I was invited to the gym in Grimsby. This whole shoot was a learning curve, a dark gym and working athletes meant that flash for action shots was more of a no go, the last thing I’d want while doing a muscle up (if I could haha) would be a flash blinding me.

All in all it was a really successful shoot, and even though the first round of edits weren’t exactly to the Clients taste, the use of revisions in the contract meant that we were able to fix the problem and everyone was happy.

This shoot highlighted some areas that I’d love to improve, but that’s a really positive thing. Growth in 2026 for me at least will mean working in these environments more, directly with athletes and even learning more about product shots. This will increase my confidence further.

If you’re an athlete or brand, rely on visuals for marketing and social media and need consistent assets, my diary is open for the year and I would love to work with new people.
