Flaming Star Nebula (left-side) and Tadpoles Nebula (right-side).

Two distinct star-forming regions in the constellation of Auriga.

Flaming Star resides 1500 light years from earth and spans 5 light years and the Tadpoles is 12000 light years from earth and spans 100 light years

186 x 300second exposures across two imaging sessions in January 2024 and December 2025. Stacked and processed in PixInsight.
I used the SetiAstro Statistical Stretch to initially stretch the data from its linear state. I like how it sympathetically applies the initial stretch allowing further tweaks using the Curves Transformation tool.

NGC2237 Rosette Nebula.

In the constellation of Monoceros this star-forming region lies 5000 light years away and is a 1000 light years across. New and hot stars have blown away the centre with their stellar winds giving this nebula it's distinctive shape.

3 hours of 300second subs, data captured in November 2024

I hope you enjoy reading these blogs and if there is anything you want me to write just let me know.

The Orion Nebula captivates the imagination. Residing around 1350 light years away it is a colossal star factory and one of the "poster" nebulae that adorn walls and mobile phone wallpapers alike.

Jellyfish Nebula IC443. 4 hours of data captured last winter and processed in PixInsight.. I feel with PI you need to find your own work flow, I've followed numerous tutorials and not one workflow alone works so I've taken bits from tutorials that work for me. Still finding my feet with PI but there is progress and more understanding.

NGC7822 found in Cepheus. A star forming region around 2900 light years from Earth. The central star is one of the brightest in the local region, around 100,000 times more luminous than our sun.

Around 4-5 hours of data of 5 miniute exposures.
