Impossible to sum up the final day at the Rugby Europe Conference 1 SVNS Tournament in Andorra for Rugby Austria.

Starting slow against Serbia in Match 3, finding themselves 0-26 down with 5 mins to go and a yellow card against, only to pull it back to a 26-26 draw. Beating Lëtzebuerg Rugby |Fédération Luxembourgeoise de Rugby in the Semi-Final when nobody gave our young team a chance…

Ultimately there was far too many injuries to compete at the level needed to win the Final, but there’s no shame in Silver Place🥈and being promoted into the Trophy Series for 2027.

Well done Rugby Austria.

What a weekend.
Rugby Austria have taken the Silver Medal in the Rugby Europe Conference 1 Tournament in Andorra. For 2026, they selected a much younger squad with six of the squad being U20’s. Kurt Martin’s direction was clear - go out and enjoy this, soak up the experience - no pressure. The squad did exactly that, and repaid that trust with Silver Medals. Youngest team in the Tournament.

Top 2 teams being promoted to the Rugby Europe Trophy Series. Congratulations Rugby Austria.

Was a privilege to be part of this weekend.

Day One of Rugby Europe SVNS tournament in Andorra. Rugby Austria were two from two so ended the day topping their Division.

Victory in Game 1 versus Slovenia; Game 2 versus Bulgaria.

Back tomorrow for Day Two.

Day One of Rugby Europe SVNS tournament in Andorra. Rugby Austria were two from two so ended the day topping their Division. Back tomorrow for Day Two.

Spektrum Steppers at in weather that wasn’t very SVNS. In fact, it was horrible - rainy, windy and bloody cold. The Steppers unfortunately lost to Bedford Athletic in the Final, but the weather did little to dampen the spirit. Officiating in the Final was more akin to a croupier at the Blackjack Table with the steppers getting two red cards 🟥 in the second half which ensured they lost their halftime lead. Fun day out despite the weather. 🌧️💨

Yesterday was a hot one at ! Bank Holiday traffic meant the drive for Bucks Rugby was 5+ hours, players arriving having not had time to stop and eat some lunch… and several players arriving after kick-off! At 19-0 down inside 10 mins, Bucks did well to pull it back to 26-21, but ultimately Somerset were too strong for the Men In Black. Great day, wonderful weather and facilities and a game played in good spirits. Well done to all involved.
