Time is up - the studio will be closing its doors on the 4th May

What started as a place for me to shoot (and store my ever growing prop and gear collection) grew into a community of creatives who produced some awesome images and pushed the limits of the space.

I'm gonna miss seeing my fellow asylum inmates as much but the truth is trying to run a studio, do my own photography and work full time was always gonna be a tall order.

There are still great opportunities to shoot coming up with some amazing models holding studio days in the next few months. There are also still spaces available for hires (check the calendar on the website for the most up to date info)

Thanks again everyone it's been a crazy ride but it's time to move on.

2 hour slots, shooting 1-2-1 at fashion/gymwear level.

The studio has a range of backdrops, lights (flash and constant), modifiers and props you can use and I'll be around to help so no studio experience is necessary.

Refreshments will also be available throughout.

£110 per 2 hour slot

Christmas is coming to the studio early!

I am delighted to announce that we have two amazing models joining us for our Festive Double Trouble shoot -  lgc  & Freckled Ginge !

I'm putting a Christmas set up in the main room and will have some festive props to play with 

Shooting in a small group (max 5 photographers) we'll be doing a mix of solo & duo setups and as usual the studios props, backdrops and lighting will be available too.

These shoots are very laid back and great for boosting your portfolio or trying out shooting with models.

The session will run from 10:30am-1:30pm

Cost will be £45 per photographer.

I'll be on hand throughout to help out with set ups and offer advice if needed & refreshments will be available too.

Time to wade in on the AI debate.

Image 1 is one of mine - all the rest are generated from it with Nanobanana (inside Photoshop) with a single sentence prompt!

Are they perfect? No.
Will 90% of people notice? No. Should we be worried? Probably.

I deliberately picked a shot with harsh lighting and in BnW and it didn't have a problem with it.

Lots of people have jumped on the movie killer AI trend this year but unlike the action figure trend of last year its very easy to mimic without using AI - but not many have actually shot it.

As you can see from the shots above its only a matter of a couple of updates before photographers don't need to hire models for hours as they can shoot for a bit and AI generate whatever they didnt get.

I could probably generate an entire shoot from half a dozen images as its stands now and it would pass the instagram test.

Bottom line we need to support each other and arrange actual shoots (preferably hiring your friendly local photography studio to do it too 🤣🤣🤣)
