Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann is less than two weeks away, we are reminding the public that an restricted air space zone will be in place in Belfast city centre from 11am to 10pm on 2nd August and 10am and 10pm from 3rd-8th August inclusive. The zone from Sunday 9th August will be in place from 10am to 11.30pm.

These restrictions cover the use of drones are necessary to ensure public safety throughout the event.

We have been making contact with clubs, associations and societies that we are aware of, who would regularly utilise airspace, to make them aware of these restrictions. It’s worth noting if you are detected breaching this order and end up with a criminal record, your travel and career prospects will be negatively affected.

The Blue Angels flying over a crowded beach is an incredible sight—but behind every pass is detailed planning, controlled airspace and strict safety procedures.

Drone operators should apply the same responsible mindset. Check the airspace, maintain safe distances, respect restrictions and never risk public or aircraft safety just to capture dramatic footage.

Sometimes, the most professional decision is not to fly. 🚁✈️
