The studio has a make over room and we can provide hairdressing, make up artist and styling for any shoot. We specialise in Bo***ir photography and have a bo***ir room with ornate furniture, ,backdrops, backgrounds and burlesque props

What a day for Megan & Sean-Patrick! 🤍

After the ceremony, we headed to 📍 McKenna’s Pub in Augher for a few drinks, plenty of craic and some photographs, before making our way to 📍 Cavan Crystal Hotel for the reception.

A fabulous couple, a brilliant crowd and a great day full of memories. 📸🥂

Can we make this a thing at more weddings? 🎂 🍰

Elena & Daniel did something at their Slieve Donard wedding that made SO much sense.

They got married, walked out of the ceremony and into their drinks reception… and cut the cake.

Everyone is still gathered together, the excitement is high, people actually SEE the cake, they gather round while it’s being cut, cameras and phones come out and from our point of view, there’s great energy around the photographs camera📸

But the best bit?

People actually eat the cake. 😂

It was served alongside the tea, coffee, scones and shortbread while everyone was chatting after the ceremony.

Compare that with 9pm when everyone has had a full wedding meal, a few drinks and the dance floor is calling. That beautiful cake you spent a fortune on suddenly has some serious competition.

And Elena & Daniel added another gorgeous little detail.

They had gone to a pottery session before the wedding and made their own plate, painted with their names and wedding date. Their first slices of wedding cake were cut and placed onto something they had actually made together.

I loved that.

Honestly, if you’re planning your wedding, consider moving the cake cutting forward.

Give the cake its own little moment while everyone is still there to enjoy it.

I THINK WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT SWEETHEART TABLES… 🫶🏻✨

Shannon & Aaron had what the Americans call a sweetheart table at their Carrickdale wedding.

No big long top table.

Just the two of them, sitting together, with this gorgeous backdrop of lights behind them😍

And there are lots of reasons I love this.

Your bridesmaids and groomsmen can sit with their partners. Your parents can sit with theirs. Everyone gets to relax and sit amongst the people they actually want to spend dinner with.

And the bride and groom?

They get a little table for two in the middle of their own wedding.

But there was something else I noticed with Shannon & Aaron’s that I REALLY loved.

The speeches.

Instead of someone standing up six seats away at the end of a long top table, each person came up and stood right there beside them.

Dad speaking with his hand on Aaron’s shoulder.

The boys standing behind them telling stories while Shannon & Aaron are absolutely buckled laughing.

Aaron speaking, looking down at Shannon while she’s trying not to cry.

And suddenly the photograph isn’t just of the person giving the speech.

It’s the person speaking AND the reaction to what they’re saying, all in the same photograph.

A hand lands on a shoulder. Someone turns around to answer back. They cover their faces laughing. Someone reaches out and touches them.

It becomes a conversation rather than someone delivering a speech from the other end of a table.

And from where I’m standing with the camera, that’s gold.

Because the best part of a speech isn’t always the person holding the microphone.

Sometimes it’s the faces of the two people listening to it.

So if you’re currently deciding what to do with your top table, have a wee think about the sweetheart table.

After photographing Shannon & Aaron’s, I can definitely see the appeal🤍

There’s a wee secret to getting photographs like these…

Enjoy the bits in between.

Shannon & Aaron were an absolute DREAM to photograph because they enjoyed every second of the experience and were having the best time.

Walking from one place to another, Aaron looks at me, throws both hands in the air like, “YESSSS… I got her!” 😂

Cutting the cake, Shannon turns around absolutely delighted full of laughter.

Give them a pair of heart-shaped glasses and off they go. Great craic for everyone.

Walking to the next photograph, she’s throwing her arms out, laughing, looking back at me — and he’s right there joining in.

I just had to keep the camera to my eye because I was capturing real joy.

And I think that’s something couples sometimes miss when they say, “We want really natural photographs.”

The natural photographs very often happen between the photographs.

On the walk to the family photo.
Coming back from the gardens.
Waiting to cut the cake.
Heading into dinner.

If you spend the day bits thinking, Right, where do we have to be next? I want to be …. you miss half the fun.

Shannon and Aaron were just THERE.

Together. Having the craic. Enjoying their people. Enjoying each other. Enjoying the photos, Enjoying the fact that this was their wedding party.

And my camera got to catch it.

So if you want photographs that feel full of life, don’t worry too much about being good at photographs 📸
