Known by many names . . . . NATO call it the "Hind", the Russians informally call it the "Krokodil" (Крокодил), meaning "Crocodile," Afghan resistance fighters called it Satan's Chariot / Devil's Chariot . . . . I like many others prefer to say "Wow, look at that Flying Tank!"

The Czech Air Force Mi-24V Hind E was a regular visitor to RIAT but most if not all by now have been transferred to Ukraine (2023), I hope we get friendly Hind visits soon from another NATO or NATO friendly country, RIAT 26 perhaps ? This powerful and quite iconic Soviet-era gunship really does fly with presence. If i was hiding in caves and behind sand dunes I would just be waiting to meet my maker unless I had a nice US made Stinger to hand.

RIAT25 may be a distant memory to some but my collection of images from this fantastic annual event still keep producing gold as they say with fresher and more rested eyes.
Here we have three images of the 60's designed Dassault-Breguet Atlantique 2, this powerful French Navy maritime patrol and anti-submarine warfare aircraft was a significant addition to RIAT 25. This particular aircraft performed a rare and quite dynamic flying display, its two Rolls-Royce Tyne turboprops sounded amazing and for engines dating back to the 50's gave a very unique and refined sound.

Major "Slab" Krakowian again giving his his F-16C Fighting Falcon Block 52+ a thorough workout during RIAT 2025. The F-16 Tiger demo team is based out of the 6th Air Sqn of the 31st tactical Airbase near Poznan, Poland.
Slab won the crowd-voted "As the Crow Flies Trophy" which he duly celebrated with the whole team.
He will be missed . . . . . . . .

Shuttleworth again brought an awesome visitor to last weekends display . . A Chance-Vought F4U Corsair with its distinctive inverted gull wing design, it looks awesome but was a radical solution to not only cater for the landing gear but mainly to give clearance for the large at the time Pratt & Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp Radial 2,000hp engine.

Here we have Douglas R4D 'Ready For Duty', a historic U.S. Navy Second World War aircraft which flew over 12'000 miles from Texas to be based out of Duxford for the summer to grace various UK air shows throughout the year.
