✈️Tutorial Tuesday…Let’s dive in!
An airfield is full of composition hints…
Taxiway lines.
Runway lights.
Hangar edges.
Shadows across the ramp.
Even the aircraft’s own wings!
They can all guide the viewer’s eye towards the aircraft. ✈️
This is the real value of using leading lines in aviation photography. The technique gives your image direction and draws attention exactly where you want it.
Next time you’re composing a taxi shot, shooting a static aircraft image, or capturing a wider airfield scene, ask yourself one simple question:
Where do you want the viewer’s gaze to enter the scene?
If the answer isn’t clear, look for a line already present in the image and compose with it in mind. You can also crop with intent during the editing phase.
Small change. Big difference.
