This is the facebook presence for 'Classic Rock Photography', the concert and music photography of Rich Ward. I started going to concerts in the 1980s, with my main interests being what are now regarded as classic rock bands such as Deep Purple, UFO, Thin Lizzy, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath etc, and NWOBHM bands such as Diamond Head & Saxon. After what seemed to be a lull in the late nineties and t
urn of the century, it is good to see a lot of new talent emerging both on the blues and hard rock scene, and I have enjoyed watching and listening to the likes of The Answer, Casino, Joanne Shaw Taylor, Virgil & The Accelerators, Saint Jude & Raven Vandelle. The advent of the digital age rekindled my interest in photography with the purchase of a Fuji digital camera in 1999. Soon I began experimenting beyond simple point and click, and combining it with my love of live music, which necessitated several camera upgrades. I live in the Midlands, but also travel throughout the UK to see bands. I am a photographer and occasional reviewer for the excellent Midlands Rocks web based magazine covering all areas of rock within the greater West Midlands area. My images have been published in UK & USA based rock magazines, used in album and DVD sleeves, various promotional material, and the most unusual having one commissioned for use as a mural in Kavarna, Bulgaria. All images are subject to usual copyright laws.
