Here is my latest video of a set of two of the brand new W.W.Greener over and unders.

It is rare I get given the budget on these videos to really spend some time on it, so this one is pretty special and the highest quality video of its type I have produced.

Enjoy.

I’ve just uploaded to YouTube this conversation between Robin Brown and Ian Sweetman talking about their experiences making best guns just in time for the festive break, so if you have a spare 45 minutes it is well worth a watch. Have a great Christmas everyone and all the very best.

Robin Brown and Ian Sweetman have a casual chat about their experiences having been through two apprenticeships each around 45 years apart. An interesting loo...

If you haven't already seen it, this is a very interesting video following the process of case colour hardening.

It's a few years old now so looks a bit rough, but I had forgotten to put in on my channel until now, so do give it a watch if you'd like to learn a little about colour hardening.

A video of the process of case colour hardening a shotgun, filmed at A.A.Brown & Sons Gunmakers in 2019.This was filmed on somewhat primitive gear so for for...

Here is a picture taken some time ago as a test of the concept before repeating it with a brand new gun. However, it turned out to be prohibitively time consuming so a new one wasn't made and this one was forgotten about. Thankfully, I just stumbled on to it whilst hunting for another file and so I thought I'd share what was an interesting exercise.

This is a fairly old Supreme de Luxe by A.A.Brown & Sons, hence the gold washed parts and wear to that gold, but they do make them stand out which is maybe why this gun was chosen at the time.

For those interested in the photography it was taken in many parts with the distance calculated to make sure each part was the correct size once placed on the image as naturally, they had to be photographed placed on a surface rather than in the position seen on the image. Everything was taken on a Nikon D810 with a 180mm Tamron macro lens at F14.

it would certainly be good to do it again some time soon with a new gun and more modern camera equipment and there are a couple of A.A.Brown's on their way so fingers crossed. I can't see any other makers prepared to pay for the ridiculous amount of time it took, but you never know!
