If you’re looking for a wedding venue that honestly stops you in your tracks, Boturich Castle is the one.

I’ve photographed a lot of weddings across Scotland, but that commanding view over Loch Lomond never gets old. It’s one of those rare spots that perfectly balances that classic castle feel with a bright, open atmosphere: giving you plenty of space to just enjoy the day.

Whether it’s the light inside the pavilion or the breathtaking backdrop outside, there’s so much to work with here. My goal is always to capture the day in a way that feels vibrant and real, focusing on the genuine moments and the incredible backdrop.

It’s easily one of my favorite places to work, and the team at Castle always makes sure everything runs like clockwork.

There is something really unique about the atmosphere at Dunglass Estate. It is definitely one of those venues that stays with you, especially that 15th-century church. It is historic and full of character, but it still feels bright and welcoming for a ceremony.

One of the best parts about shooting here is the variety. You have the ancient stone of the chapel for the "I do's," and then just a short stroll away, you are looking out over those stunning North Sea views. It is the perfect mix for couples who want their wedding photos to feel timeless and a bit epic, without the whole day feeling like a long, forced photoshoot.

I know exactly how it feels when you start looking for a wedding photographer. You spend hours scrolling through galleries, and after a while, everything starts to look the same. It’s a huge decision because these photos are what you’ll have left when the cake is eaten and the dress is packed away.

I try to make that choice a bit easier by keeping things simple and high-quality. I only take on a limited number of weddings each year. This isn't just about my schedule; it’s about making sure I can give every couple my full attention and a truly dedicated service.

When you’ve spent months planning every detail, you want someone who knows exactly how to handle the light on a Scottish beach or the changing weather in the Highlands. Choosing a wedding photographer is one of the biggest decisions you'll make for your day, and I know it can feel like a bit of a minefield. You want those beautiful shots, but you also want to actually enjoy your wedding without feeling like you’re on a constant film set.

The atmosphere of a Saturday wedding is something special: it's high energy, emotional, and full of those fast-moving 'real' moments. My job is to make sure everyone feels at ease so those genuine laughs and looks happen naturally.

There’s a real sense of history when you step inside . The grand rooms, especially the wood-panelled ceremony space, have such a unique character that works perfectly for the bold, colourful style I love to capture.

Think of having a professional photographer as a bit of “chaos insurance” for your wedding day.

Weddings are amazing, but they can also be a bit of a whirlwind. Between the ceremony, the drinks, and trying to catch up with every single guest, there’s a lot to take in. That’s where I step in.

My role is to be a calm presence in the middle of it all, so you don’t have to worry about a thing. While you’re enjoying a quiet moment with your grandparents or laughing with your oldest friends, I’m there to capture it. No forced smiles or performing for the camera: just the real, honest moments that tell the story of your day.

It gives you the freedom to just be present, knowing that the genuine emotion is being documented properly.

Balbirnie House has a very special place in my heart. I’ve been lucky enough to photograph weddings at this stunning Fife venue since 2010, and honestly, Balbirnie House Hotel never gets old. Every time I head up that driveway, I find something new to love.
