Do you have rights on Bodmin Moor common land?

Cornwall Council is holding a drop-in session where you can find out how to add new information to the Commons Registers or update existing entries.

The event will take place between 11am and 5.30pm on Wednesday, July 15 at Warleggan Jubilee Hall (PL30 4ES).

The Commons Registers will be available to view, and staff from Cornwall Council and the Cornwall National Landscape team will be on hand to answer your questions.

Sign up for the FREE summer challenge for all children, with huge benefits. Launching in libraries on Saturday 11th July, this year’s challenge has 2 strands. We have designed this to make it inclusive for all children, regardless of their reading confidence.

• The Reading Quest – The option for those that can read 6 books about things they love with win rewards and incentives along the way.
• One and All Challenge – A fully inclusive option designed so that every child can take part and succeed, whatever their reading ability or needs. Children taking on this challenge receive the same rewards and incentives as the children taking on The Reading Quest.

How the Challenge works
• Children sign up for free through their local library. They choose their challenge and receive a booklet which includes a free swim voucher.
• Children borrow and read library books or complete activities during the summer. As they progress, they can earn special stickers and extra incentives along the way.
• The challenge runs through the summer, finishing on Saturday 12th September
• Library staff and volunteers are on hand to advise and run family-friendly activities.
• Children who complete the Summer Reading Challenge are presented with a certificate, a medal and a Treasure Trail worth £10.99

Callywith Community Bus Initiative 🚌

We are delighted to launch a new community initiative in partnership with Stagecoach providing schools and community groups across Cornwall with access to a coach for educational trips.

From Monday 29th June to Friday 3rd July 2026, one coach will be available each day between 9:00am and 4:00pm for use by schools and community groups within the PL postcode area.

This initiative aims to support learning beyond the classroom by removing transport barriers and ensuring that cost does not prevent groups from taking part in valuable and enriching educational experiences.

Cornwall offers a wide range of inspiring educational destinations, including:

🌊 Cornwall’s coastline and beaches, providing opportunities to explore nature and the environment.
⚓ Historic towns, harbours and villages, offering insight into Cornwall’s rich history and culture.
🌿 Public parks, gardens and open spaces, ideal for outdoor learning and activities.
🎨 Art galleries, cultural centres and heritage sites, supporting creative and cultural education.
🥾 Countryside areas and walking trails, perfect for geography, observation and wellbeing experiences.

…and many more.

Trips must take place within Cornwall and West Devon, with the eastern boundary defined by the line Plymouth – Tavistock – Okehampton – Barnstaple. All destinations must fall west of this line.

Please ensure a coach can safely reach the pickup location and the destination you choose, this will also be subject to Stagecoach undertaking their own risk assessment.

We’re inviting patients from our practice to come along to our Health & Wellbeing Event at Lanivet Community Centre on Tuesday 10 February to:
• Hear about local health services
• Share your ideas and views to shape local health and wellbeing plans
You can:
• Drop in anytime during the event anytime between 10am–4pm:
• Book onto a workshop at the event (1pm to 3pm AND 6pm to 7.30pm)
