Normally, I wouldn't venture into a car park for the newlywed shots, but after taking a stroll around the beautiful grounds of Bailiffscourt Hotel, we spotted the resident peacock and made a dash for it, regardless of the backdrop!!

Now we're hitting April, and those pesky showers, here's a little reminder that rain is ok on your wedding day!

In fact, with the old saying about "tying the knot", remember, a knot is tighter when it's wet, therefore many see it as a good omen!

TRUST YOUR INSTINCTS

We are inbuilt with a healthy dose of instinct and intuition. After following this Monday series of "tips for choosing your wedding photographer" I hope that you've been able to earmark some questions and research that will play a part in booking in that trusted person who is going to photograph your special day.

Budgets and style aside, THE most important thing to remember is your instinct.

Do you trust this person, feel safe and comfortable with them, are you confident in their ability and professionalism?

If something is off in your gut, either ask the unanswered question or politely thank them for their time during the enquiry process and book the photographer your gut feels most at peace with.

Good luck with your wedding planning quest lovely ones, and if there is another tips series you'd like me to cover, let me know in the comments!!

When the couple go above and beyond in their personal touches.... Personalised, handwritten letters to each guest, also guiding them to their correct table. What a great idea, there were definitely some wet eyes as those letters were read.

CONTINGENCY PLAN

For those that know me or have worked with me, may have heard my "hitchhiking to get to a wedding" story, and if you haven't I'll gladly tell you! Wedding photographers that are worth their salt will have plan a's, plan b's and even c's, d's, e's and f's.

We will plan to mitigate as many risks that we can, but life's curveballs are not infallible and neither are we.

It is well worth having that chat to see how your photographer plans to reduce risks, and what they will do if something arises that is beyond their control. What are their back up plans and how do they plan on communicating that with you? Will you be in the loop, will they help find cover, or will they just walk off into the mist never to be seen again?

The important note here is that you feel confident that your photographer will not leave you in the lurch and will do everything they can to coordinate a contingency plan communicate should the unexpected and unavoidable happen.

How lovely is this... when the Brides mum and brother perform Coldplay during the signing of the register, and the whole congregation gets their phone lights on. Proper concert vibes!

What unique moments are you planning for yours??
