Morning folks 💚
A little UK medical cannabis basics post to start the day, because even now there are still loads of people who don’t realise this is actually a legal prescription medicine.
Medical cannabis has been available on prescription in the UK since 2018. Treatment is normally started by a specialist doctor after an assessment, rather than just walking into your normal GP and asking for it.
And it’s not just dried flower either. Depending on the prescription and what’s clinically appropriate, products can include flower, oils, v**e carts, gummies and even suppositories.
If you are prescribed, keep your medication in its original packaging with the pharmacy label and use it as directed by your clinic.
For those of us already in the medical cannabis world this is basic stuff, but to the general public a lot of this still comes as a surprise.
How many people do you reckon still don’t know medical cannabis is legal in the UK? 👇💚
